Re: new industrial project, yay dotcom!

oh! thanks! yeah, thosquanta is the main project. we've bounced around a LOT, genre-wise. i did a "country" album, some KMFDM ripoff metal-industrial stuff, and now we're basically a drunken punk band with a moog. my vocals have changed a lot lately, too - not doing the marylin manson groany thing a...

new industrial project, yay dotcom!

so i think the whole album is up and streaming. used a lot of dotcom with heavy slew rate for the leads (esp. "live with it") along with a prophet '08, and i got a surprising amount of use out of my sh-201 as well. who knew? the rest is reason synths - mostly used for the annoying, high pitched nois...

Re: minotors

i should say - i'm willing to do a bit of work, isolate the minotaurs, position correctish, move to crete, but i've seen friends spend thousands on a setup with bass traps all over the place, sound-dampening, "room tuning" (not real sure how this is even achieved, to be honest), and i don't wish to ...

minotors

ok, i need some monitors. i currently use a combination of headphones and computer speakers for mixing, which i am well aware is a no-no. so, i need some (preferably powered) near field monitors. i am cheap and lazy. looking to spend no more than, say $5-600, and i won't be "tuning the room" or any ...

Re: Japanese Magazine ships with Analog Synth

mine is on its way -- anyone know if you can just use the input as a regular ol CV?

i was going to try to use the output on my dotcom's midi-to-CV module to try to midi this little thing.

if no one else has results, i will report back soon!

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

i got a roland s-10 for free. came with a briefcase full o sample disks, even. guy gave it away as he didn't have a power chord. i've got the alpha juno, so same chord. plus they're only a couple bucks on ebay. turned out not to be a deal, tho. turned out power came on once and it didn't work after ...

Re: Performing Live

i used to use an MC-505 as a controller live as well. used the 505 to control a daisy-chained akai s2000 (all drums were on here), novation k-station, and nord micro modular. i'd play my jx-3p live over the presequenced songs or else twiddle knobs for some minimally interesting live touches. (we had...

somebody actually uses a JX3P?

hey, heres an old track i did. main organ thing is a JX3P, also using nord micro mod, Roland MC505, and running the (poorly mixed) drums on an Akai s2000. i'll get a pic of my current gear up soon...
