Re: Reason 6 is coming

Well I guess it's like any person who dives in with something complicated- they'd use only the most basic features at first and grow over time. The only thing missing now is VST support, but I wonder if they add that, would it just be about comparisons to everything else. Good point on the VST supp...

Re: Gear Trading Thread

Gear that I'd like to trade and what I'd like to get possibly for said gear. First what I have for trade: Modded Yamaha DX-7. Instead of 32 presets a knob has been put in the top left corner of the synth to allow you to dial each preset for a total of 8 patches per preset slot. 256 instead of 32 pat...

Re: Will FM ever be sought after ???

Out of all the things I've read on this topic's post, so far, I agree the most with Balma. If you like the sounds you can create with a certain synthesizer/drum machine/sampler/etc. be it an analog, subtractive, additive, FM then USE IT. It's like looking at the newer things hitting the market right...

Re: JP8000 MIDI Help

You're going to want to put them in the user patches then if you don't want to lose the presets. Also to get them onto the JP-8000 I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong please.) that you'll have to hit record on your JP-8000 while the files are transferring to your user banks then when done hit...

Re: Smoking and gear.

I am a smoker and have been for a long time. It's not a bragging right or a claim that I think makes me cool or anything like that. It's just a fact. Having said that, I've smoked around certain gear of mine in the past and wished I hadn't mainly due to discoloration and that sticky feeling the keys...

Re: My Vintage Soul for a Voyager XL?!!

I like my Voyager XL and the sounds I can create with it but you do have some rare jewels there Ned. Get rid of what you CAN live without but don't lose the one's you'll regret getting rid of now to only have to find later at some jacked up insanely stupid price mate. However if you're gonna get rid...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

I just pre-ordered four of these little bad boys. Two for me and two for a buddy of mine. I can't wait for the release of these sick f**k' monotribes! Does/has anyone know of or caught wind of an official release date yet? I'm really looking forward to this piece of gear. It's about time Korg made a...

Oberheim Matrix 6 function and preset issues.

Hey all, I've had this Matrix 6 for a while now and had no problems with it. Now when I power it up it sometimes loses power but not all of the power to it. What I mean by that is the screen goes blank and that I can't get any sound out of the keys or make changes with the membrane buttons for prese...

Re: What are some Moog Prodigy pros and cons

I'm in agreement with everyone else about it being a reliable and great sounding Dual VCO monosynth. It is the Moog sound most assuredly so you'll be getting great bass lines and some really cool leads out of it! Highly recommended especially if it's an early model that you can retrofit with Midi/CV...

Re: Songs With Great, Interesting Use of Arpeggiators

I find the Eurythmics use of arpeggiators on "Here Comes The Rain Again" to be quite good. A solid track with amazing synths at any rate but that arpeggiated beginning to be amazing!

Re: Dub Production

I agree with the whole delay effects aspect of Dub. I get a lot of good dub sound out of Ableton's Grain Delay FX and it's Filter Delay as well. Not to exclude their Analog Tape Delay emulation at all though, that can get some mean Dub wobble if you know what I'm sayin'.

Re: Favorite Analog Software Synth?

I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of Poi-Zone and I don't really care for uhe ACE either. I am backing those that mentioned Ableton's Analog instrument. I use it a ton in my work flow as well. It's not analog perfect obviously being software but it does get quite close to the real deal.
