Re: WORNG (warning, modular chillwave lol)

I have to admit Stab. You have some really good tracks. Keep up the great work and I'm really looking forward to hearing the new stuff you put up on sound cloud.

Re: Which Electribe?

I like the X versions due to the tube amps in them. Just makes them a bit warmer and it heavies up the kick drums and toms nicely. But the other models are still very cool indeed and it does depend on what you want out of your electribe. Spaceboy summed 'em up rather nicely. So I would just go from ...

Re: Swarmatron!

Big City Music has them for 3,250 USD or a price real close to that. The whole idea of pulling notes like taffy is f**k sweet and it sounds amazing!

Re: Evolver Vs LP

Hey MegamanX. I have both of the synths. Although the Evolver has more features it's "more modern" sounding than the LP like Nathanscribe said. However there are a some great bass sounds that you we're wondering if the LP has or is capable of creating. Some are old Taurus sounding bass sounds but th...

Re: Roland JX8p vs Oberheim Matrix 6

I have both and they're really quite amazing synthesizers. On the one hand you have great deep bass sounds with the Oberheim but if you don't know the matrix modulation section well enough to program your own patches it can become a bit, "overwhelming." As for the JX-8P it's an analog monster with a...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

Xibalba bought an Mbase11 off of me a few days ago. He paid quickly and was very easy to communicate with. I'd sell or buy from him again in a heartbeat!

Re: Just How Picky Should We Be With eBay Items Recieved?

Wow, the seller really was "liberal" with his use of "minor wear" huh? Ethics are what you asked for so I'll tell you what I think ethically. First off it's totally spirit crushing when you get a piece of equipment from a seller Ebay or anywhere else and it's totally not as well off as it was descri...

Re: My Matrix 6R is behaving weirdly

It could be the transformer is crapping out on you. I had the same issues with a Matrix6R I used to own and it was my transformer was beginning to fail. A few weeks later it did and was dead to the world until I had a new transformer put in. So it could be that, or it could be something else entirel...

Re: Drum Machine

Not to be a j**k, but... The D2 is probably the worst idea for somebody looking for a drum machine (especially a beginner)! Terrible, cryptic interface, not that many sounds and barely any editability on the drums makes this a bad recommendation... steer clear! And, I owned and enjoyed one for year...

Re: Access Virus TI: tips, hints, thoughts

Hey Blavatsky! I own a TI Snow and I love it! The patch editor is amazing and some of the effects are pretty good for what it offers. There are billions of patches to look into but for bass sounds you're looking for check out "Bombass" it's a good starting point base preset that gets my creative jui...

Re: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE: Songs from one synth.

My fave is the CS-15 track as well! Quite an amazing job you did there, especially (as it's been pointed out already) without a sequencer. I enjoy all of your work you've posted Automatic Gainsay. You've got a great ear for sound and it really shows in your work! Cheers!

Re: Virus B and C

The mod matrix is quite bigger on the C definitely. But I really enjoyed using the B honestly. It had a darker and more sinister sound right off the bat. Of course you can get the same sounds out of the C and it has enhanced options like the "extra" filter and EQ as well as a bigger mod matrix to dr...

Re: Drum Machine

My advice would be the Roland D2 that Balma suggested and the Alesis SR18 that Gordwiebe suggested. Can't go wrong with either of those two. The older Korg Electribes are quite nice and cheap as well like the EM-1 (my personal fave of the older electribes). Gordwiebe also mentioned the Zoom drum mac...

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

Everyone has already pointed out the overwhelming pros of the Octatrack and the very few cons of it as well so I won't regurgitate that info for the sake of a post. I will say however that Elektron has done amazing things with the Monomachine and the Machinedrum so the Octatrack is very likely to be...

Re: thinking of selling my jupiter 4

The horrible thing is that TB-303s are STILL going for around 2k!!! And a Jupiter 4 for 2k? Nah, screw that. I saw three listings for Jupiter 6s on Ebay just two days ago ranging from 1,600 to 2,000 USD. Now for the Jupiter 6 I could maybe (and I stress the word heavily) justify spending that much. ...
