Also, just because the sounds may not have been synthesized doesn't mean you can't reproduce them that way of course. I find myself trying to create sounds from my synths that could otherwise have been sampled - just because it is fun to do. I've made animal sounds and steam boat whistles etc.. Ther...

I forgot my sources but from what I heard, most of the sounds were not synthetic. Not quite as bad as the BBC era with Daphne at the Radiophonic, but I just remember hearing that the sounds like the doors and transporter were amalgamates of found sounds.
