Re: Akai S612 Sound Library Archive Project.
Great idea, but I think you're just going to have to save up and do it yourself because generally people don't care about this stuff unless someone does the work and offers it for free.... - yeh ain't that the truth! I see QDs pop up on eBay, even smallish collections of genuine AKAI library ...

Re: BEWARE: AVOID Encore Electronics.
I'm sorry to hear about your problems, I've had similar difficulties with a different long standing specialist trader. His replies to me just got more bizarre, like nothing's his problem. We need to make people aware of these traders. We take these people on trust, many are home enterprises, some go...

Re: Dead Or Alive - Misty Circles Synth Techniques
Do you mean You Spin Me Round Like A Record - Dead Or Alive with Pete Burns? That was done when SAW were at their peak (1989), done by Mike Stock and Matt Aitkin who were expert on making that type of song and sound. I saw some of their studio kit up for sale many years ago. They will be a good crew...

Re: Ensoniq EPSm - Read/Write to external SCSI HD using Wind
ok, I've had a quick look at the review, yeh that looks to me to be what we now call a EPS "Classic" - the one before the EPS16+ (unless I have that wrong) the scsi spec on that is not as robust as the EPS16+. I think there is also something with it not reading CDrom drives, do check. I would sugges...

Re: Ensoniq EPSm - Read/Write to external SCSI HD using Wind
Which sampler do you have? the EPS16+ or the one that came before it the EPS? There is a big difference, the latter is restricted on all things scsi as it was all being developed at that time. You may well care to read up on the Tweakheadz scsi h**l webpage. Term power and termination may well be ne...

Re: Akai s5000 SCSI card reader - PLEASE HELP!!
psst.. MrR, have another look ;) the drive is set to scsi id 4, I know you know this... anyway. Just a few thoughts, what scsi id is your Jaz drive set to? Set this drive to the same. Usually it's better to boot up with all things scsi ready to roll, so put the cf card in then power up, and power up...

Re: Need help decreasing MIDI jitter in my setup!
Just a thought. Have you optimized your computer for music? I know with XP we have a setting under My Computer, System Properties, Performance Options, Visual Effects a button for "Adjust for best performance" - it takes away CPU effort for nice graphics and makes them available for programs/apps li...

Re: How to make an ensoniq cdrom anyone?
ok I've made progress, it doesn't work on Win98se, so I put TC and EnsoniqFS on XP - yey! What even better is, my HD is a CF, my XP has a CF slot so I don't even need scsi. I've now copied all my CF ensoniq files to my XP machine, I notice the names get changed: was, piano.efe TC makes them piano.[0...

Re: How to make an ensoniq cdrom anyone?
yup the EnsoniqFS plugin seems to be all present and correct, it's there under the Network Neighbourhood section. I click on "refesh" which looks to see what drives are attached, does nothing. The same as click this -> X did nothing right? Even if I click on the cdrom in EnsoniqFS, it seems to go up...

Re: How to make an ensoniq cdrom anyone?
Thanks for the great suggestion Mr R, alas, gloom. I've installed Total Commander 9.2 and then got the EnsoniqFS.zip and installed as per instructions (win98SE+scsi)... but... eventhough Total Commander has the EnsoniqFS plugin installed, it just doesn't see any ensoniq HD or CD. I've sent an email ...

How to make an ensoniq cdrom anyone?
Something from a bygone age but something I've yet to do, hmm.. sounds dodgy, make an ensoniq EPS16+ readable cdrom of my sound library. Just the usual thing, I have either all my sounds on an ensoniq hard drive or as efe files on a computer, now need to figure out how to make them into a iso or wha...

Re: Welson Syntex repair help
Sadly I don't have any info, but as a fixer myself, that looks like a fun project to work on! Provided of course there are no time or business pressures. One thing in its favour, its all accessible, can be got at and worked out. All those logic chips the 74 series, can be worked out, I luv Boolean e...
