I think you're getting confused with a the fridge magnets. £8 seems reasonable

Re: Welson Syntex repair help
Sadly I don't have any info, but as a fixer myself, that looks like a fun project to work on! Provided of course there are no time or business pressures. One thing in its favour, its all accessible, can be got at and worked out. All those logic chips the 74 series, can be worked out, I luv Boolean e...

Re: Emu Vintage Keys - continuous controllers?
I have something similar from Emu called LaunchPad, it has a "learn" feature and if that's not good enough I'm sure I can program CC numbers in from the front panel, just read up on the manual. I'm sure the Vintage Keys will have a few CCs available, time to read those manuals!

eBay!
it's as simple as that. As you'll know it will be £££ in London as everything is.

Re: No sound from Ensoniq EPS 16+
Can I suggest, do a YouTube video so we can see what's going on. In truth, I think the EPS16+ is quite robust and well made, I've only had one chip failure and a few other minor issues in 20 years of owning 2 machines. Just a thought. When sampling with the EPS16+ it normally sends what's going in t...

Re: No sound from Ensoniq EPS 16+
I don't want to appear like I'm talking down (insulting) anyone.. we assume that once an Instrument has been loaded in, it's "active" button is pressed to select it. On the keyboard version, it needs to two yellow leds to be lit, on the rack the led needs to be yellow not red (press the button). The...

Re: Mirage sampling problems.
:geek: The Mirage is not an instant gratification machine! You will need to spend a lot of time getting to know how it works before you can make sense of it. I know I had one and for fun I wrote an editor for it. It can do a lot of things BUT you really have to read the two manuals many times and ma...

Gig piano/organ VSTs in a custom box?
I'm looking for a new keyboard to gig with, something that does nice Hammond/pianos/rhodes all the usual real instruments. I've seen the Nord 5D which on first look seems good, then I have a think about the organ, it has just the one version of the B3. From discussion I know B3/C3 differ from year t...

Re: Examples of 80s synth hit @ 1:31 Bizarre Love Triangle
This is spooky, I've just done a recreation of BLT for a band I'm in, I used the Emu library orch stab as it sounded just about right. From what I hear and read, BLT was done on a Fairlight and when I listened very closely to recreate this track, indeed all those stock sounds are there. It's almost ...

Re: ESQ-1 display stopped working
Yes that sounds like the one, I'd have to go double check all the part numbers but Herr Butchy is the man. The exisiting 40 pin DIL controller chip needs to be removed, it does take some good soldering skills, it is very easy to damage the PCB. I'm sure then the kit will be a easy fit. At 49 Euro, j...

Re: ESQ-1 display stopped working
The display chip dies, also the same chip does the front panel buttons too, it's a common failure now on the ESQ-1. Only fix is to get the kit from Herr Butchy in Germany. I had this problem about 18 years ago, I was in communication with the guy, sorta working up a fix, he finished it, I got divert...

Re: EPS 16 plus old floppies won't spin
I had similar probs, what I found was damp had got to my stash of floppies, if I looked carefully (in bright sunlight) I could see some mold or at least something on the disk surface. I found this would either cause read errors but most usually the drive would squeek and stop. I got a old stylee dis...

Re: Ensoniq EPS 16 Sync issues
Just curious, but if you turn on metronome for the EPS16, does that seem in time with the TR8 or SH01? Are you quantizing the pattern? Are your samples not truncated tight? Can't say I've experienced midi lag, but I also rarely use the eps sequencer. This is actually very good advice/suggestions, I...

Re: Patrick Leonard with Madonna gear ID
:geek: Yeh a reasonable comment regarding hardware and software sequencer, although give it a moment. Around that time I had a hardware sequencer but found it tiresome programming it up, I got a software sequencer and that was much better. Even today, I do the code (midi file) on a computer and uplo...
