Re: Novation K-Station

Well, I love small synths with battery compartments ;) Soundwise it's like comming from smoke to smother, both not exactly my cup of coffee.

If it had an access or waldorf nameplate on it, it would have been equiped with more than just LP filters... ;) If it has to be a novation synth, try to get a KS or X-Station...

Re: MATRIX 6R MIDI CONTROL/SYSTEM EX

Well, Filter isn't a pressigned controller, you have to do this manualy within the mod-matrix, for intance by connecting it to one of the lever controls... 01 Vibrato Amount (Lever 2) 02 Breath Control (Lever 3) 04 Foot Pedal (Pedal 1) 06 Data Entry 07 Volume 08 Bank Change Enable 64 Sustain (Pedal ...

Re: If You Could Have Just One Vintage Synth...

...what would it be? Two scenarios: 1) The synth would complement your other instruments in the rig, which could include softsynths and emulators. FS1R, that's why I already have two of them, not sure if it already counts as vintage... When it comes to analog synths I'm pretty much happy with recen...

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?

Using an ATARI 8Bit Computer with monitor output (can be used for audio out) might be an option, since the soundchip is very similar sounding but with doubled polyphony.

Re: Atari to Stereo cable?

You could use a VCS2600 Emulator for PC or Mac, other than that their's probably no way around the TV Audio-Output or building your own audio output by grabbing the singal before it enters the HF-Modulator...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

It helps me to visualize how the modulator waveform clinch (when going above the X-Axis)/stretch (when wandering below it ) the carrier, depending on the mod amount and frequency relations. Other than that I decompose complex operator-wavforms into multiple sine operators, what works fine since the ...

Re: M-Audio Midisport 8x8 Install problem

On XP SP2 the device limit isn't valid anymore, I use 38 Ports (2xAMT8, 1x Unitor 8, 1x Midisport 4x4, 1x M8U, 1x I/O Soundcard and finaly the Virus TI provides an extra MIDI I/O when connected via USB)

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

When playing around with feedback on carriers, 0Hz with (a little trick) modulated Carrier/Shaper Phase combined with the additional Operator Waveforms, the TG77 opens up a whole new type of FM the DX7 can't do and those books don't cover...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

Hey Summa, I think with the Massey book being out of print, there would be a market for your project. It will take a while anyway, so far I needed a year for contents collection and table of contents and I hope to find the time for making music again this year. Other than that I'll see if my englis...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

Would be the first FM book covering waveshaping on the DX, thought I might be the first to do that ;) Still their should be enough for me to explain using that function on modern FM-Synths to create distortion and PWM, what needs at least a TG77 to work... I might reverse the theory/practise order, ...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

Does it include using Operators at fixed frequency as Carriers or between Carrier and modulator? Since this is information is hard to find and hardly used among DX presets...
