Celebrate today - 9/09/2009 - The day of the Rhythm Composer! Post pics, videos, songs, beats, stories - anything and everything 909-related - on this thread! Funny, I just sold mine after a long period of contemplation to fund a MD UW. Damn, I could not be happier.

Re: TR808 Kick drum

I agree with you guys above and common sense says you should know better, but damn, I have seen some people do the stupidest sh!t in my gear life. Permanent marker, stickers, and my personal favorite....mods without any soldering knowledge beforehand. So, just saying, FX could fall into that categor...

Re: TR808 Kick drum

Say what Schmidtc? Maybe you accidentally added the "with WD40" part, hopefully? :) FX, I'm sure you're familiar with the Devilfish, so here's a little info from Robin Whittle's site. 2 General maintenance Here are a few tips on keeping your TB-303 healthy, and in reassembling it. 2.1 Never spray an...

Re: TR808 Kick drum

is WD40 bad? If you love your 808...then yes! It eats the original factory lube away from the pots, and your knobs will never have that "feel" to them again. If you're going to spray anything into your synth's / drum machine's pots make sure it's Caig Faderlube. Btw, well said Syn! Gonna go home an...

Re: TR808 Kick drum

I've had similar issues with an 808(hi tom) in the past, it's definitely electronics and will need a visit to the analog doctor. Shouldn't be too bad, $200 or so, plus it's over 25 years old. Bound to happen...

I often consider nominating myself for the TV show Intervention . I want to be the first person that requires rehab due to my rabid synth buying habit. Without a new piece of gear about every 2-3 weeks I get the :shaking: But in all seriousness, I used to have quite an analog studio 12-15 years ago ...
