Re: Gear Repair: Alesis HR-16 low volume output

without seeing any circuits its not easy to say........ if you can hear all of the sounds but low then it could be an op-amp type issue but you will have to try and trace through the audio and see where it goes wrong

Re: Best synth buys you've made

"Is that the Mini In you Avatar?" Wow I love stories like this. You know even if you have to rebuild them it is nice when you are starting out at at almost free. Yep same mini.... sold just about all the other ones as the profit was crazy. Sold the LM1 on ebay for about £1000 so not bad for a few £...

Re: Attn: Synthex Owners - ? about fan noise

Years ago i did an upgrade to a fan and fitted a high quality PAPST item. Got it to run at a slower speed and was almost silent.

Re: Vintage-sounding effect suggestions please!

Thanks for all the replies guys, after doing a bit of thinking, I guess I'll be starting off with a delay as it's a pretty staple effect which I'd like to improve first. @clusterchord, what does BBD mean for an analog delay? BBD is a "bucket Brigade Device" I use a EHX Deluxe Mem Man and also a tap...

you can get a small kit to build in a box. Can be battery operated. Very easy to do and would cost a few pounds only

Re: How do I set up Korg Polysix arp trig in with Kenton pro

I dont use it with the same setup as you but i do use the kenton with cubase and a pro one. For the arp to work it has to see a time code at the kenton which should be sent from ableton. When you sequencer is in playback or record mode it should send this out via midi. You might have to select this ...

Sounds like you have to get a bit more technical then... circuits and a volt meter would be a good place to start

Re: Which amp is better for Juno 6?

Yes a guitar amp is fine now and then but i think the question relates to something for everyday use and you will soon be sick of the sound out of the guitar amp........ I would also stay away from keyboard type amps/speakers as they are c**p most of the time. Cheap speakers and cheap amps dont add ...

Re: Which amp is better for Juno 6?

It will sound lowsy through a guitar amp. just get a reasonable set of PA/disco type speakers which are powered or an amp to drive them. At least you will get full range out of them... 12" bass drivers with tops should be good

Re: Moog Opus 3 - Non-Functional

First thing i would try is see if you can trigger any sound from an external source, cv/midi input or any other way you can try. If it works then narrows the problem down alot... could just be the keboard triggering not working

Re: sh101 rust!

I got some of those contacts and they were not direct replacements and had a nightmare fitting them. Most important is to make sure that no acid has got onto the pcbs as it will eat the solder contacts. Clean as much away as possible of the c**p
