Re: Yamaha DX7 Power Cord

I am able to get one of those with the mains cable fitted. Just requires you to fit a mains plug

Its in the uk so postage will have to be added but total price will be about £30

Re: Old keyboard contacts/repair

Update: I was preparing to start working on the JX-3P, so I turned it on to ensure I had the exact keys that needed work, and lo and behold all keys are working. I guess the de-oxit evaporated and the contacts are good. I'm still planning to open it up and clean the rubber part thoroughly. I aslo n...

Re: OB-Xa spare parts?

What are the defects? Yes parts do come up for sale but not very often and tend to be rather expensive I have restored a couple of OBXa synths myself but it was very hard work. If you had to pay someone to do this be prepared for a very large bill! Just tuning and getting it up to spec is a task! Wh...

Re: Yamaha DX7 Power Cord

That connection is a Cannon and was used lots on all the BBC equipment at some point. They did this to stop people making off with all the power cables as they could not use them. They are very hard to find now. I did have a box full but sold them all at £20 each Best thing to do is get it changed o...

Re: Old keyboard contacts/repair

Uh oh! I guess de-oxit was a horrible idea  - I better open it up as soon as I get some free time and clean the area. Thanks. Deoxit will damage the rubber.. thats what i used and i found out the hard way It may just be dust on the contacts. I had an sh-101 in for repair yesterday for exactly...

Re: Old keyboard contacts/repair

Best thing to try is a cotton bud just damped with water first. Just slip it under the rubber contact and wipe over the pcb contact and rubber contact. Do NOT use any solvent cleaners as it causes the rubber to stretch causing more problems... i did this a few times making it werse :?

Re: Minimoog - Help

Sorry i cant remember what sorted it in the end.... I changed every electrolytic cap, retuned and set up to factory spec, used deoxit on all the switches and pots, cleaned all pcb edge connections with deoxit and had to do some rewires as it had been cocked up by the previous owner It was much bette...

Re: TB-303 CPU/Memory Problem

So my beloved TB-303 died the other day. I took it to the local synth tech to repair and he informed me that the problem is due to some error relating to the CPU. The tech admitted he's not all that experienced with working on vintage synths so I'm not sure I'm confident his diagnosis is correct. I...
