Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

The topic of the Korg and Roland re-making analogue gear has been around for years, I remember talking to a Roland rep back in about 92 or 93 about this and he said it would never happen. Well that was 18 years ago or so...would like to hear what they think of it now.. I was Korg or Roland I would ...

Re: Anyone still sequence on the Atari ST?

Yeah it looks nice with the LCD...velvet acid christ did it, hes got a good write up of it on his page http://www.velvetacidchrist.com/2010/03/08/sequencing-atari-st-cubase-2-0/ http://www.velvetacidchrist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/IMG_0244.JPG http://www.velvetacidchrist.com/wp-content/uploads...

Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

We are talking about the capability of the big 3 of making new analog synths preferably polysynths and its just annoying when some people try to come across like experts and try to tell you that its just not possible at all.

Re: Mixer for analog vintage gear

anyone know about old school Yamaha mixers are they any good?

Here's RM 804

Also, I heard that the older Mackie 1604's are actually better due to different PSU design?

Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

No, DSI outsource the production to a board fab house. If you're talking about that video a while back that showed the making process that wasn't shot at DSI. Are you sure? Where did you hear that it gets outsourced? If you look at the video everything gets done at the same place... http://www.yout...

Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

All they have to do is put an ad in US/Europe/Japan they are hiring engineers and get a couple of dudes to come up with a new poly based on old and new R&D then get a machine to solder parts onto pcb and get them assembled in China and we're good to go. They could do an MS-20 like that too, imho for...

Re: Roland SH01

There are quite a few synths on the market that match that description, why don't you just buy one of them? What you say makes no sense, unless you just really like the way the SH01 looks. If that's the case then you should just buy one and never switch it on. ;) Listen, are you having a go at me j...

Re: Roland SH01

I tried one out at a shop, it actually felt really nice..much higher quality than SH-201, now if only it had an analog engine, CV/Gate.. no presets, crappy effects and that D beam bs.

With the MC-50MKII you can't just use any floppy, you have to find MF2-DD which are rare, check ebay good luck

Re: what the tb-303 offer more then the x0xb0x?

What makes the 303 is it's sequencer. The x0x's has just a basic 16-step sequencer, it doesn't have that time-mode note length entry, the x0x doesn't have that which is it's shortcoming, that's why the 303 is unique because of the time-mode function. Patterns are never the same twice. Damn! Now I d...

Re: what the tb-303 offer more then the x0xb0x?

x0xb0x is indeed the best clone of the 303 just check out http://www.acidvoice.com/ x0xb0x also has an extra slot on the pcb where you can insert a vintage BA662 which you can find on ebay, some people reported no difference in sound others have and no software can sound 'pretty much the same' as a ...
