Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

Nick Batt did a great job in the 2nd interview asking all the pertinent questions. Of which it was interesting to see the designers were tempted to creep some new features but stuck to their original mission to remake something true to the original that is affordable. No it was an awful interview N...

So they are using Korg 35 filter chip? Isn't that a rare part and not being produced anymore? Did they get a plant to make it again?

Re: ANOTHER monosynth...oh and an analog drum machine (MFB)

Yet another entry into the sea of monosynths that will most likely be forgotten within 6 months. It's not like that at all man, it's great that we have more and more choices of brand new synth, all these releases are extending life of such instruments, vintage hardware is already so scarce and unre...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

Also, Also... I hate to bring up Roland here.. but I'm going to. The fact that Korg is knick'ing the styling of the x0x boxes is hilarious and very in your face... lol. Roland can't ignore this stuff forever - eventually they have to notice what their competitors are doing and getting all the buzz ...

No, no and no.
Heh well I heard that they all use some kind of digital control for stability, same thing is probably happening on the new bass station

Re: New Novation Bass Station?

what does whether or not something has dcos have to do with cv/gate? :? DCOs don't need CV to work, so adding CV/gate would require adding an extra converter section rather than just breaking out the CV/gate points like they can in something like the minibrute. Man look at what this guy wrote regar...

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.

Well you can have your opinion on the topic, but there's a lot of people out there want knobby analog gear, the problem is vintage stuff is overpriced and unreliable. Many feel that Roland could at least make one decent analog synth like a mini SH-5 like Korg did the MS-20 or an inexpensive poly sy...

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.

Having somebody (including a synth label) to throw tomatoes seems to be addictive and fun for most of people. Roland sells their new synths very well. Even in my 3rd world country, the last Roland models are being used in several music genres. Their owners does not dig into deep programming or soun...

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.

I think a lot of the "real synth" players out there always think that we are the biggest market when it comes to electronic instruments, we are not. Most of the companies you all cherish so highly are run by one or two guys. I know one maker, who is very highly regarded and has his gear owned by wo...

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.

No I'm not saying that. But as pointed out earlier, that list= 12 sales . Conversely, Roland is a high volume seller. At what point does something sell best? if say their wedding keyboards sells 100,000 units and an analog synth sells 30,000 units does that mean its not a success its just bullshit ...

Re: Proof that Roland are indeed insane.

I'm not sure if this is the link for it, but this shows that the guy in charge of organ development has been replaced and also mentions this: 2. Reason for the Change The Company announced structural reform of the electronic musical instruments business on November 7, 2012. Under the leadership of t...
