Re: Prophet 5 Rev 2

Thanks! I'm like a kid in a toy shop today... It also turns out that it doesn't need a tune up - it just needed time to warm up!

I'm going to enjoy getting properly acquainted with this beauty... :D

Prophet 5 Rev 2

Mine at last!!!!!! Arrived an hour ago courtesy of UPS, from the UK. UPS looked after it very well - it's still in one piece and it sounds utterly magnificent. In short, it's everything they said it would be, it's got the 120 patch upgrade, cassette interface upgrade and Kenton MIDI.... :m...

Re: Moog Polymoog 203a restoration thread.

I have a fully functional 203a here (serviced by James Walker in the UK), so if I can help, feel free to ask!

Cheers

Re: Keyboard Stands

i spent 6 x MONTHS looking for the BEST STANDS in the world !! And now i have found them. JASPERS STANDS are amazing (made in Germany)....... PROEL STANDS are equally amazing...... The WORST stands ever are ULTIMATE and QUICK-LOK. It is amazing how often i see people STILL using them. They are LAST...

Re: Synth Technicians and Repairs

For anyone needing synth/vintage tech work done in Ireland, I highly recommend John Henson in Dublin (synthnerd <at> eircom.net). John recently worked on my JP6 - he installed the Europa upgrade along with a service/calibration, and my JP sounds (and looks) amazing now! Really nice guy, loves his wo...

Re: Rhodes chroma - feedback

Regarding reliability, this is my Chroma story. When I purchased my Chroma, it had apparently been working but only tuning 5 voices. Someone else had beaten me to it and went to see and play it. Luckily enough for me (in hindsight), it locked up and died on them after 45 minutes of use. So I got a v...

Re: The Beatles: In My Life Harpsichord?

It would never have occured to me in a million years that this was a transposed electric piano. The question now is which one was it?? Any ideas? So are you saying George himself played the solo? According to the superb 'Recording The Beatles' book, it was an acoustic piano. Here's an excerpt, in c...

Korg Polysix replacement KLM367a PCB group buy

Attention Polysix owners! There is a group buy now on for replacement PCBs for the infamous KLM367a. Here's the link. Bear in mind that this is for the PCB only, but apparently a parts list will be published shortly, with most parts available from Mouser. I'm not personally involved - this is thanks...

Re: Just got a CS15 - power converter question

Thanks for the input! It's up and running with the US transformer, which happens to be 100W, so it should be ok for now.

Fun synth! Very versatile, and very angry if you create a feedback loop with the external input... :-) I'll get a lot of mileage out of this one!

Cheers

Re: Just got a CS15 - power converter question

Great stuff - I'll give it a shot! Agreed about the long term solution - but for now I just want to get it up and running and have some fun with my new toy... :-)

Thanks Stabby!

Just got a CS15 - power converter question

My new CS15 arrived yesterday from Japan, and it's in superb condition! But I'm in Europe (230V) and it's a Japanese model running on 100V, 50/60Hz. I've ordered a power converter but it hasn't arrived yet. In the meantime, is it safe to run the CS15 from an American 110V transformer I already have ...

Re: Novachord #346 Inspection & Initial Wakeup

Just a guess - perhaps the filters are 'tuned' differently. Could it be a sort of keyboard tracking setup, where the filter response was designed to vary along the length of the keyboard? Perhaps it was done to iron out bumps and dips, and to prevent certain notes from screaming relative to others, ...
