Re: Old Electronics In The Cloud

Thanks for listening. The software I was using at the time is mostly: Fruity Loops, Sound Forge, Acid, and Audio Mulch. Many of the sounds were made from sampling myself playing guitar or beatboxing or playing keys/synth, and then totally mangling the source in many cases. For instance, the "synth" ...

Re: roland juno 6/60/106 alternatives

I think the Alpha Juno/MKS-50 is closer to the 6/60/106 than the JX-3P.
The Oberheim Matrix 6 is a killer poly synth for cheap, and they're not hard to find. Great for ambient evolving pads.

Re: Korg Trident versus Korg Delta

I've owned them both, but have way more experience with the Delta, as I used it as a gigging synth in 2 different bands. The Delta is definitely not a slimmed down Trident. Two totally different sounds. In that time period there's the divide-down Korgs (Delta, Lambda,Sigma, ect..) and the true polys...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

If you're in the NY area, and know a good tech, you should snatch this: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/1793999050.html Analog Synthesizer Maxi-Korg - $400 (Brooklyn) 70's analog synth, monophonic, big fat moog synth sounds. works, makes great analog synth sounds but a couple of the oscillator...

Re: ETI/Maplin 4600 value

A working one sold for 1200 GBP about 2 months ago on eBay.
Looks like a pretty amazing synth, I had never heard of it before that auction.

Re: Yamaha CS01 vs Novation BassStation

I agree that the BassStation keyboard takes this hands down as far as sound, performance, and options.
The only aspect where the CS01 comes in ahead is build quality and size.
My BassStation's chassis is currently being partially held together with some black electrical tape right now.

Re: MG-1 VS rogue?

Right now I'm working on a live set using the MG-1, a 606, guitar, vocals, and a reverb and looping pedal. The songs are in the vein of BOC, Suicide, Stereolab, and the Velvet Underground. In my attempts to minimize the amount of gear that I'll be dragging around, I've found that the simplicity, ver...

Chroma Polaris Ribbon?

I've got a Chroma Polaris with the dreaded ribbon issue so only half the buttons work.
Are there any resources for getting new ribbon connectors or instructions on repairing damaged ones?
Thanks.
