My brand new MD UW arrived this afternoon.

See you never.

Look for my MPC1000 on ebay.

Re: The Elektron Machinedrum Thread

It does seem like integrating the machinedrum into an MPC1000 based setup wouldn't be the easiest workflow. So when my machinedrum arrives, I'm either going to return the machinedrum, or ebay the MPC1000. I just don't want to deal with the combination. witness the combo! Hot Chip playing Over and O...

Re: My synth has been in repairs for over 3 Months!

I'm primarily a guitar player, and I can tell you, these experiences translate to any instrument repair. I called up this luthier in Philly who I've used before, he's slow but he does good work. I told him I wanted a pickup installed in my Gibson acoustic. He took my credit card number, and charged ...

Re: The Elektron Machinedrum Thread

You have 256 instruction steps, each of which could be either a call to a patten, a portion of a pattern, a loop command, or a jump command. Without the repeat loop commands (which you can nest), you could, on a Mk2 have a song 1024 bars long. With loops, the sky's the limit, since you have total c...

Re: The Elektron Machinedrum Thread

Ack, well reading the MD manual, I think I've decided against buying one...because the Song lengths are only 256 steps, or 16 bars. That's 256 seperate pattern calls, not 256 steps. Song mode on the Elektrons is *amazing*. I've got a Mk1, and although the patterns are only 2 bars long, the pattern ...

Re: the EVOLVER

My next move was to get a MEK but now I'm torn between it or a little phatty. f**k - why can't I afford both??? Since I own the PEK and Voyager, maybe I can comment here. It all depends what you want. The Voyager (and I'm assuming the LP) excels at bass. To me, there is no better bass sound. ...

Re: The Elektron Machinedrum Thread

Well, it has been said in the past, that nothing swings like an MPC! I'll admit it...if the UW version of the MD did not exist...I don't think I'd be using the MD. Hmmm, great feedback. I'm uneasy about pulling the trigger on the Machinedrum UW now. Regarding swing settings, I never use swing on th...

Re: The Elektron Machinedrum Thread

Great thread - I was thinking about dropping my MPC1000 workflow, and instead switching to a Machinedrum UW. Right now, I'm using the MPC1000 to sequence my 3 synths, and trigger Fxpansion BFD, for my drums. However, since switching to this workflow, my song output has gone down. I'm thinking that m...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld KEYBOARD - w Samples ?!?

Novamusik says $1499.00 for the keyboard version. Seems a bit steep when you can get a used Q or Microwave XT for that price, which have way more knobs. I realize the Blofeld is a different beast, but dang, for $1499, I want knobbage. New ≠ used. Some people want to buy new, some people would rathe...

Re: the EVOLVER

I like it alot. And it is so very affordable. I would not hesitate to get one... Just like TVC15 is one of my favourite songs, just not on my top 5 list. That doesnt mean i dont wish i could write a song like that.. Gotcha. Well, definitely keep it in mind. I've been loving my PEK to death. That is...
