Re: USB Audio Interfaces and Keyboard Stands
£250 is the recommended retail price for the US-800 1641 is no better than the US800 as it only has 6 TRS Inputs. The rest are digital and XLR. I'll defiantly go for the Alesis, purely from the FireWire input. It means that I won't have to remove one of my other USB devices to use it and I can final...

USB Audio Interfaces and Keyboard Stands
I'll try and keep it short and neat. Audio interfaces Has anyone got any suggestions for an Audio interface? 4 Stereo line inputs, MIDI in/out built in would be great and a USB or Firewire 800 interface. I've looked around and almost all the interfaces within my price range mix-down all the damn aud...

Re: Sega Megadrive FM anyone?
@CS_TBL The big different here is that I can actually playback these songs on a real megadrive. The patch bank of each song can be exported as an OPM file and loaded into a megadrive ROM image for use with a flash cartridge. Then all I'd need is some kind of MIDI control system to sequence the notes...

Re: Sega Megadrive FM anyone?
Once I had a dx7IId: certainly it has a quite different chip inside, but when I got it I could not be able to create any sound similar to those in your tracks, expecially basses, they were so dry. There should be a lot of things I don't know about FM synthesis. FM is, in short, a b***h. In long - I...

Re: Sega Megadrive FM anyone?
Great tracks, I enjoy the FM percussion part in Clear Blue Waters and Reboot is cool! Percussion was the hardest part. FM drums are a pain to do :B I like both of those! The bass patch in CBW brings back memories of my old SoundBlaster Pro, which was my gateway drug into synthesis. ;) God I remembe...

Sega Megadrive FM anyone?
I've had these tracks for quite a while and were originally made for fun to mess around with that little 6 voice FM Chip inside the mega drive (or an emulation of it at least). CBW remains one of my favourite tracks and the bass-line in Reboot is still probably one of my best. Reboot - plus a C64 fo...

Re: playstation startup screen: what synth?
The PS1 does have an internal general-midi wavetable, same with the N64. They are not synths, but your standard everyday romplers as part of the operating software. It does, however, have something like 10 PCM sound channels. Many games did choose to use Audio CD data instead such as Ridge racer (ra...

Your FZ's disk drive might NOT be dead!
I don't know if this was simply a one off problem for me, or if it's a common problem that no one has really bothered to check - even so, I thought I'd post it my experiences in the event that it would help someone. I had all the symptoms of a burned out drive on my Casio FZ-1. It didn't spin, it di...

Re: Synth examples, post them here.
They are one of those types of synth you buy in passing just to play with and see what happens. Yeah it was a passing synth for me because it was so cheap (£130) and it's ended up the most over used synth in my setup. It's buzzing tones and smooth effects fit very well in Techno and chill-out music.

Re: Synth examples, post them here.
i dont think they do. With a little work some people dont beleive that its a CZ. I think DX tend to have a more 80s tone about them, but i guess that comes from them being hidiousely over used in the 80s.

Re: Synth examples, post them here.
Who would I contact if I wanted to add an audio demo to a synth page? The demo's for the Casio CZ range are deplorable at best and don't show off what the CZs can really do. I've got loads of youtube videos and I've just finished an audio demo of my CZ3000 that could be used. Casio CZ-3000 audio dem...
