Re: deep-breath-chest kicks & basses. How to?

People is so handy here.... Well, I don not use mixers, or even external eqs . I just use my hardware, and must equalize sound by sound. No external effects, no equalization, etc, and mostly of my patches are user, I like to work from scratch. this is how I record: I have two Roland SP 808 samplers....

Re: what is your take on vector synthesis

i'm a huge fan of vector synthesis- the Prophet VS is one of my favorite synthesizers as is the Wavestation (i use the KLC version of it). it's a very peculiar way to create sounds. the Prophet VS benefits from having a digital/analog hybrid design which gives it a distinct character not unlike the...

Re: what is your take on vector synthesis

Excuse my ignorance but isn't the vector synthseis an added feature more than something else? I mean, the hardware controller is very important when talking about vectors I mean, only a few synths can be considered to have a true vector synthesis, like the Sequential Circuit Prophet VS. Lot's of cra...

Re: Coordinating Multiple Sequencers

When you use several sequencers and transmit the throught MIDI clock on a linear chain,it's probable that the last one of the chain shows a little bit of latency, that will increase while the time pass by.... When using this type of setup, is strongly recommendable to use sequencers that have more t...

Re: List of Synthesizers Capable of Vector or Wavetable Synthesi

well I have the Waldorf Q, well, the MicroQ I'm sorry I have to correct that on my setup, but it's different from the Waldorf Wavetable, however, the Q is a VA with three oscillators and has 2 128 wavetables. I know the sythesis is different, I can create sounds using the VA oscillators and the wave...

If the thing sounds right use it.

Re: Where do these beats come from?

The beat background of COME UNDONE can be found on several 80ies early 90ies songs, like

"STARS": Simple Red

"Baby don't forget my number": Milly Vanilly.

That's what it seems to me, please correct me if I'm wrong

Re: I have found my sampler

One advice: Get a SP 808 ex to combine it with the V synth. The SP 808ex does not have varyphrase or can edit samples as a rompler, but it has a effect section that kicks V synth's effects. Balma, do you know how the sp-808ex efx compare to those of the later sp-606? I know very well SP 808ex effec...

Re: I have found my sampler

I'm a V synth freak by excellence. One of my fav synths of all times. One of these days, I made an inventory of how much samples I have for my V SYNTH. Counted aproximately 17.500 samples stored on cds and already formated for my V synth. Some people says that tghe V synth sucks, just for the latest...

Re: The morality of sampling movie SFX

I don't see anything bad on it. It also depends on the context you put that sound, and how much do you change it. Lots of great and very creative and innovative artists have taken sounds from these sources. Most of the DVD and blu ray movies I buy, I buy them for that simple reason: to sample sounds...

crappy happy tiny synths

Know one of them??? I think if any of these toy machines could make the difference on my music production. These things are better to call them "sound generators" than synthesizers IMO. I have to confess that some of them call my attention. Look this one: http://www.audiobell.com/bilder/muson_synth_...
