Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did

The guy who sold me the V-synth, was really happy to get rid of such "piece of c**p", and he thought I was a moron for paying $600 for it, because all modern Roland gear is c**p and I was one of those wannabes who wanted a Roland on the stage.... 99% of the sounds I make with it aren´t trying to rec...

If they have the Prophet 08 and you have the money, get it. The sound is something out of this world.

My Fizmo:

I didn´t, I swear it! :?

Maybe it could be sacrilege if the color design was something very characteristic from it, and if it was a collectable item.

"Forget that day" DSI Tempest + Electribe ESX-1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH10xd3KprY DSI Tempest drummachine and Korg Electribe ESX-1 live performance, July 2013. The Tempest provides a primitive and beefy drum machinery. Distortion effect was used during several sections, and there´s an intense interaction with the sliders, roll and other...

Kind of weird how some people likes to drop by and troll when they see a thread of a DSI´s product.

Re: What should each company make next?

multitrack onboard sequencing should be a must on each hardware synth. There´s no reason to separate notes/music composition from patch programming, they are the same. I would love a synth with the shape of playstation controllers. You can grab it and play it like playing videogames, and also put it...

Re: What should each company make next?

Onboard multitrack sequencing capabilities a must. Patch and sequence programming are treated in the same way. Tracks and patches are the same thing. Unlimited patch and note storage.
Sampling a must for all analog synths :ugeek:

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did

I agree with "better interface = happy owner" but I don't think "better interface = better sound" is a necessarily accurate observation. Because I don´t see where is the division between both. You are the one who makes a synth sound good. And such process comes from your interaction with it. The "l...

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did

They placed the d-beam in wrong position (and it´s always on by default), just over the two programmable knobs. Anyway, I´ve never used the d-beam of the V-synth. Is the same dbeam they used on grooveboxes. The best d-beam designed by roland, was iimplemented on the SP-808, wich is a dual D-Beam con...

Dr. Phibes wrote: In a world full of critics?

But anyway, as painful as it is to admit, it would appear that Roland doesn't give two shits about what VSE thinks, so lets just move on.

Now I agree with this. Anyway, when in VSE is time to criticize, threads consume several pages.

Re: Yamaha VL1/VL7

The EX5 has a VL engine plus many other types fo synthesis. I´ve kept the EX5 during 10 years only for the VL engine. You can specify several parameters depending of the nature of the instrument. I agree it requires a lot of practice and a wind controller to play it properly.
