Re: Gear Trading Thread

I'm not sure that I want to trade at the moment. Leaning more towards no, but I'm going to put this out as a feeler just in case. I have a Waldorf Blofeld... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/aquatek/photo15.jpg ... that I MIGHT be interested in trading for a virtual analog synthesizer in the sam...

Great, straightforward transaction. Thumbs up and thanks to rharris07!

Re: Mopho keyboard update

Another happy owner here.

The lack of a multi-mode filter isn't a big deal for me, since I always record its output and post-process within my DAW.

It's a simple, raw, no-frills real analog synth... that is actually affordable.

Definitely through my monitors, unless it's late. If it's late, I use headphones. Don't want to bother the roommates and neighbors. ;)

Re: MoPho Keyboard VS ProOne; how badass is the Mopho?

The Mopho sounds great IMHO. Yeah, if you take away the suboscillators and feedback, it's pretty much the same sound engine as the Prophet 08. However, having had both (not at the same time, but close enough), I think the Mopho is able to achieve thicker and more "aggressive" sounds with those two l...

Re: A bit of a dilemma. Tetra vs. some other KNOBBY rack pol

Might be out of your price range, but this is the next big analog poly I plan on getting a Rozzbox. Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBqGbjxOFqA They come in both mono and poly versions. It's a very gritty sounding box, so it might not be your thing. Food for thought, either way. That...

Re: Your SoundCloud profile!

I make electro, techno, acid house, etc. under the "Nathan Vice" moniker, and new wave, italo, synthpop - ish stuff under the "ReveNOVO" name.

Music for both in the same profile (separated by sets):

No longer a dilemma: Tetra vs. some other KNOBBY rack poly

I do love my Mopho keyboard + tetra combo, BUT, it's mostly because of the Mopho. Starting to wonder if having the Tetra as my poly synth is a little redundant, since they have the same exact engine. This is not a reflection on the sound of the Tetra. It does sound great. If anything, I'm kind of no...

Ditto for me... plus a bit of early 90's.

I'm young-ish compared to others who chimed in, so I only experienced those years as an elementary school kid, but the sound of that era always stuck with me.

I guess it just takes me back to simpler times.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

yeah, I'd written DSI about the it, and a few other doubts, and amongst all the answers, Tracy added that the arp on/off thing is officially a bug that they are aiming to squish with the new Tetra OS update this week. Other than that, it seems to be working well. I still think having the MPC as a mi...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

SUCESS UPDATE! So, I don't know if it was the new Mopho OS update, or the settings I changed on the MPC, or a combination of both, but now I'm able to send all parameters to Tetra! (eccept Arp. on/off, but that's a known Tetra bug that Tracy at DSI confirmed for me). I'm back to running the exact sa...

Re: I dropped a pick in my synth

I once had a small ant colony living inside my old PC laptop some years ago. Everytime I turned it on, they'd run out through every single orifice on it (ports, speaker holes, ventilation slits, etc.) and scramble around.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

cool, thanks. I'm 99% sure it's just the way they are..ie, the filter doesn't attenuate the complete signal..especially as it's the same on my tetra. The MPC's have always been pretty capable midi-sequencers so there is a good chance it won't filter out NRPN's...sysex maybe but NRPN's are technical...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

Thanks Geoff I'm at work right now, but once I get back home later, I will try to find if there's anything wrong with the MPC's midi settings. In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if a cheaper, older model like the XL filtered out some stuff, like NRPN's. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised, as a no...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

Alright I tried your method and it's a good solution! After tweaking a few settings it's all ALMOST perfect. The only thing I noticed is that, using the MPC as kind of a MIDI "router", some controls aren't transferred from the MoPho to the Tetra. I assumed this was because these specific controls we...
