Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
ridiculously good deal eBay seems to be a great option for buying vintage equipment. Back in the day, you could find Sequential Circuits Pro-1s for around $500! I've sold my share on the bay, but have a few horror stories as well. I just purchased a Roland PG800. I've seen them go up in price every...

Re: The obsession for the Analog
I honestly don't mind.. I find the mindset frustrating, but collectors and trend chasers can keep driving up the prices on mundane synths like the Junos and I really couldn't care. It's amazing that for $500 you can routinely find an unwanted EX5, or that the K2000 and SY77 are only worth $300 or s...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?
All of the boxes look awesome, though I'm partial to the beats and sub bass units. I have a polysynth for the chords and stuff.

Roland HS-10 and Roland PG300
I've just purchased a Roland HS10 and PG-300 programmer. Will they be compatible? I assume that the HS-10 is the same thing as a Juno1. Thank you.

Re: Roland SH-101 Help
If you used the wrong voltage, you might have blown the IC, which means a trip to the repair shop.

Re: Donor synths save eachother
I guess the same could be said of digital synths as well. At the moment, I have 2 Juno 106 synthesizers, both have various problems, though one is much worse that the other. The one in good condition is from Japan; I have a couple issues left to deal with. The battery needs replacement and the lead ...

Donor synths save eachother
I like how a dying analog synth can repair a healthier version.

Re: New Member(with questions)
For the most part Romplers suck. If it's going to be sampled, at least make it sound good.
I think the Oberheim OB-X might help you get those John Carpenter sounds heard on the records. If you can find a synclaviar, let me know.

Re: eBay advice - Have a look here
Outside of Ebay, it's buyer beware, the only reason you can get a refund is for not receiving an item. If somebody sends you a tracking number and has it as backup the item is yours. As a seller, if you don't have a tracking number they automatically side with the buyer. A device paypal uses to get...
