Re: eBay advice - Have a look here
^^If you make an offer, be prepared to purchase it for that amount. I know there are a lot of honest people on the web, but there are a lot of scammers too. One of my eBay customers claimed they didn't recieve the goods and were deceptive with Paypal. They even used the good name of Vintage Synth wh...

Re: Korg Polysix lost a voice
Thanks, I fixed it by turning the top tiny knob inside, which changes the VCA output. Hopefully this thread will help other experiencing this minor problem.

Re: Yamaha NS-10M Speakers
I know a lot of people swear by the sound. I have a pair for producing and they've been a big help. Many studios have pair of NS10Ms right it front of their desk. But, I was told that without a decent subwoofer, they're not that accurate for bass. From what I've read, there are quite a few models in...

Yamaha NS-10M Speakers
They don't sound all that terrible to me, maybe a bit thin in the bass and exagerated in the mid/treble range.
I've listened to quite a few pairs and the "good ones," are very revealing.

Re: Korg Polysix lost a voice
It looks like I need to trim the output on the voice chip. It should be a simple fix, but there's no clear instructions from TSM. I'm afraid that turning any of the knobs will de-tune the voice chips.

Re: Should I keep the jx-3p?
The JX-3P can sound very lush even though it's somewhat limited. The Pg-200 is a worthwhile investment for creating and tweaking sounds when they're are played back throught the sequencer.

Re: Korg Polysix lost a voice

Plugged in a new SSM2506 chip and now all 6 voices are working. Now, the only problem is that the new voice is a bit louder than the other. Is there a way to calibrate it?

Re: Korg Polysix lost a voice
The prices on eBay are way too high. I can buy 6 of these chips for $40 locally, but I don't want to be stuck with a dead Poly61 in the house, nor do I want to drive 50 kilometers to pick it up (some guy is selling 2 korg poly61's for $250 - 1 is not working) I'd go grab them both, but they don't ha...

Re: Korg Polysix lost a voice
I had similar experience with a polysix and it was due to a bad Amp envelope IC. Poly6 has 6 of them (one for each voice) , so by swapping them you can determine which one has the problem. The Ics are socketed so it is rather easy to remove/re-install them. Also on the poly6 motherboard the there a...

Korg Polysix lost a voice
My synth is only playing 5 voices (1 dead) I can get it to play normally if I tape down a key that's playing the dead note, much like the Juno106, but it's not as good.
I'm taking it to the repairshop and hopefully they have an ssm chip or whatever this synth takes. Wish me luck!

Re: Cheap shipping from USA..
If there's anything cheaper than UPS Ground that doesn't take forever I'd be surprised. Depends on the size of the item as well. USPS and Canada Post used to have great rates a few years ago but the e-commerce boom has killed that and they seem to raise rates on an almost daily basis. I won't send ...

I once lost a very nice sound on a Red Sound Darkstar. Not the most intuitive of synths, not missed.

I'm not 100% sure, but the intro sounds a lot like a Korg Poly-800.
