The ESI:s are based on the EIIIX, but they were made as a lower cost series and in some areas more limited but more advanced in others. http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Samplers/samplers.html

Any fans of the EIIIX?

Hi, the Emu sampler that is the least popular and talked about has to be the EIIIXP/XS. It´s not even mentioned on VSE:s Emu site/archive. Totally overshadowed by it´s predesessors and successors. The EIII forum and emulatorarchive has not forgotten it, but it deserves an own page here too. Does it ...

Re: Here is the Roland S-50 Library!

No, the S-550 library is more orchestral / acoustic in its nature, and while it does have some usable sounds I personally don't find it that interesting. I think the rave choir is in the S-50 library, can't remember which disk though. Ok, but they can read eachother´s disks? it would surprise me if...

Re: crumar bit one/01/99 sound question

I think the answer is simple concerning the unstable sound. The Bit One has a dedicated slider control for detune, which ofcourse is very tempting to use. Unusual feature for a DCO synth of the era. Detune on the Bit99 and 01 is instead controllabe by LFO and programmable. The same applies to the no...

Re: Anyone remember Music Technology magazine?

I have several of them from 1987-94. I especially remember the Jean Michel Jarre competition in Nov 88 that I took part in. You could win Jarres RMI KCII that he used in Oxygene and Equinoxe! Amazing. A guy in Worcestershire won it. I´m still looking for older articels and reviews from MT, Keyboard,...

Roland S-550 questions.

Hi, there are some confusions about the Roland S-550 that I´d like to sort out. The S50´s lo pass filter is fixed and non resonant but it´s equipped with a high pass filter. The S-550 has a variable and resonant lo pass filter but lacks the high pass. Is that correct? This site: http://www.synthark....

Re: Jupiter 6 Oscillators

but u have only control for 2 osc´s right? Nothing unique for the Jupiter 6. This design became the standard for polysynths from the 70´s and decades ahead. What you do with these controls affects all voices. Exceptions are synths like Oberheim TVS/FVS etc. Which uses dual vco modules with full con...

Re: Emax questions.

Thanks. In other words that´s the only parameter of all that you can tweak in real time with the slider, as the manual says: "this is true when making any changes to the sound, not just while you´re in the filter function or the analog processng module. "
