Re: Emax LFO questions.

THANX! (I changed the title a bit as this topic is going more general.) Supplemental question, about the data slider: The manual for the Emax claims that you must retrigger a note to hear ny changes made with the data slider. Holding down a note and playing the slider will not change the sound. Thi...

Emax questions.

Hi, some questions about the LFOs in the Emax. Could´nt find answers in the manual. 1. Are the LFOs free running or do they retrigger for each note? or can it change between these modes? 2. Can it invert the waveform of the LFOs? 3. Can it declutch the LFOs from the mod wheel and modulate the destin...

Re: To buy or not to buy: Emulator II+

Thanks for clarifying that Kenneth. In other words the "EII on a chip"-design seem to be, contrary to what the advertising claimed, rather a guarantee to sound different than alike ;). Besides the filter difference, I think the Emax generally sounds more distorted, while the EII is smoother. But I h...

Re: unique/unsual features in hardware samplers

The EIII has pretty extensive routings too but is slightly more conventional in this regard. P3000 has sort of matrix system of LFO´s and EG´s etc.

It´s in this case resonance solely, or cutoff solely or both. I´ve never seen that on any other 80´s sampler or synth.

Re: unique/unsual features in hardware samplers

SCI Prophet 3000 had quite extensive modulation routings, like modulating filter resonance with LFO.

Any of these 3 differences in my opinion cannot justify the huge difference in KennethA's examples...you can hear for yourself...
What´s your opinion, If none of these?

Re: To buy or not to buy: Emulator II+

Emax is not a complete replication of EII. Different sound of them depends on at least three factors: First, the bit resolution on the Emax is 12 bit ADC, 8 bit internal, 12 DAC. EII is 8 bit in all sages (=linear). Second, the Emax has 6 different sampling frequencies to choose from. One of them is...

Re: SCI Prophet 2002 Sampler with Free Kontakt Sample!

Concerning the internal presets, the different OS versions have different sounds on them. I have the latest and an old one which I saved to disk. Some of the sounds are very nice.

Re: Where is the Obligatory New DSI product leak?????

It´s the 25 years anniversary of the Prophet 2000! we will see a new 12 bit sampler with more memory than the original and dedicated controls on the panel. It´s name is Prophet 2010.

The second is a Prophet 08 with 76 wooden keys and poly aftertouch - simply a new Prophet T8.
