Re: Video clips from "classic" movies featuring electr

Here's the main theme from La Soupe aux Choux , Louis de Funès' last starring role. It alternates between the synthesized and acoustic version throughout the movie. Watched that movie not so long ago. Theres a great scene with very spacy synths when that UFO is landing the first time. Unfortunately...

Re: V.Cheap But Good Old Synths....!?? (ie. < $150)

TX81Z, i recently got one for 70 €, but i've seen them go away even cheaper.

AN200, with the same engine as AN1x but only 5 voice polyphony, is available for a little bit more than 150$.

Re: your drum machine

My cheap source for 808/909 sounds is the Novation Drumstation, better than samples because the sounds are still tweakable. All my other drum machines are midprice machines from the 80s like R-8M, RX7, DDD-1, XR10, DR550 Mk2. I sometime really would like to get a nice toy from the TR-range (especial...

Re: why or how did you choose 'x' application to your synth

Imho almost every synth holds some surprises if one just seriously spends enough time with it.
Sure, every synth has its special subject, but that doesn't mean it's c**p for other sounds.
Experimenting and trying unusual things with your gear might give you unexpected results.

Re: is less more with synths?

Almost every time i have a new synth i make a whole track just with this synth alone and i'm often more satisfied with the result than with the ones i use more gear on. Using only one single synth for a tune is a good way to learn about the strong and weak points of a new machine, because you have t...

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths

I think most people have a very low attention span and/or a limited interest in things that fall out of what they like or know. The world of synthesizers is far too complex for average citizens to understand or care about. Unfortunately people tend to put down those things. It happened several time...

Re: JX8P Midi Control

Thank you snsr for the hint with the BCR2000, it's maybe the best solution as long as i can't get my hands on a PG-800. Btw, theres currently a PG-800 on german ebay, it's already at over 300 euros and the auction goes two more days! That's INSANE!!! At least i already have the right cable a...

Did you find the plugin again already? Sorry for bothering, but with this i will be in heaven with my JX-8P. :angel4:

Re: JX8P Midi Control

To automate the sound parameters from the sequencer is exactly what i'm after. A VSTi that is capable of doing this would be the best solution, but i'm still searching the net for a plugin and i had no success yet, so it would be great if you could post a link. I know PCJX8P already, it's a great pr...

Re: JX8P Midi Control

I really can't afford to pay twice the price for the programmer as i paid for the JX8P itself,
so this is not an option. When theres an PG800 on ebay people almost kill each other to get it. :violent1:

I'm sure there is some way to control it from my software sequencer.

JX8P Midi Control

Hey, i'm a proud owner of a Roland JX-8P since saturday. It has an impressive full and warm sound. I was playing and making patches the whole weekend and just can't get away from the synth. :) Unfortunaltely the JX8P has no Midi CC's to easily control sound-parameters in my software sequencer, it's ...

Re: A Chilled Out 80s Synth Track Using Only Free Synths

Great track, i can assure you, you're not alone when it comes to good 80s style synth music.
There are a lot of people out there that appreciate this kind of music. Keep it up!
