Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

My SHS-10. Middling controller, sounds are horrible. shs-10: this is a toy not a real synth. but you can probbably sell it on ebay for a couples hundred dollars to some fool who absolutelly wants a "KEYTAR" . there is a small hype about keytars and there aren't much of them around i guess. it has t...

Re: 9 year old kid: what HW or SW to buy him to make music?

yeah an electribe is a nice toy . on the software side "reaper" is really cheap and good . its what i am starting to use (yes im dumping cubase for it) and its very user-friendly. with a couple of free vst instruments it would make a nice little virtual studio. i would also recommend " FL studio" . ...

Re: juno 60 vs jx3p vs polysix.

if you can get the jx-3p with the pg-200 programmer you're in for a lot of fun . personally i believe that with the programmer, the interface is quite lovely. i like the shiny knobs and their feel . this one can get really funky also. i recommend it . it can also do great "not at all watery" sounds ...

Re: yamaha motif rack es

I have a motif rack question- can you put *two* of the AN virtual analog cards in one? it would be like having two AN-1Xs.... i just found this on an other forum : "" Get the ES, and stick a pair of PLG150AN cards in it. For dance and techno it's a must-have! The piano can more than hold it's own t...

Re: Arrrgh missed out on a MonoPoly locally for $125

it isnt a synth but i missed a mint 200$ novation remote 37sl. but it cant be compared to a 125$ mono/poly

i got an advice if you ever see a deal that is just insanely cheap on the internet : offer a bit more. then you have more chances than the others who wants it .

Re: 8 Bit Synths

just installed YMCK magical 8-bit VSTi and it's great s**t. nice tweakable RAW sound!! i opened it in Reaper and added a resonant filter to it for instant gratification although its more authentic on its own.

Re: yamaha motif rack es

i used it yesterday in a little jam and it proved to be useful. however from now on i will stop calling it a synth . it'S more like an instrument library , and a great one... and a seemingly endless one!! used along with my analog gear it becomes part of a greater synth. i like to use it as a layer ...

Re: DX7 vs TX7?

Re: yamaha motif rack es

it's done. i just bought the Motif es Rack . i just plugged it in my mixer. i think it will be a useful unit. it's the opposite of most of my synths . it's not the kind of sound i can fetish but once in a while a nice clean sound can be appropriate. i will use it throughout the weekend and let you k...
