no joke. had an andromeda for many years. it doesn't sound that good stacked next to a Jupiter 8 or an oberheim sem based polyphonic ... cheap plastic sounding thing ...

this is of course my opinion.

Re: New DSI instrument!

no offense taken. mate i agree ... it could be their ... 'thing' so to speak. just seemed the conversation was going towards what people want or would like to see the company do. and i just bought an ob-8 and was really baffled by the little amount of parts in there (relatively speaking ... my jupit...

First Viny Release of minimal wave stuff ....

Posted this on gearslutz but thought I'd share with some of you guys over this way. my band, Inhalt, just had a record release in england/europe on andy blake's world unknown imprint. it's a split 12 inch with jam factory. there's a sample at the link: http://www.phonicarecords.com/product/view/1032...

Re: New DSI instrument!

let's see ... i've done repair's for a living as well so i think i have some grounds to work off of. i've also been involved with an analogue drum machine project that included specking the price points out. if a company has the resources to pay for a comprehensive analogue vcf/vca ic and then also ...

Re: New DSI instrument!

you know, i just opened up my OB 8 and there is barely anything in there and we are talking about a synth from 1983! there are about four core circuit boards ... all very tidy, and lot's of ic's. it cannot be that hard to manufacture a vco, vca, env, and vcf ic can it? i mean this is the 21st centu...

vco based synth would be nice. ... but it will never happen. you know, i just opened up my OB 8 and there is barely anything in there and we are talking about a synth from 1983! there are about four core circuit boards ... all very tidy, and lot's of ic's. it cannot be that hard to manufacture a vc...

Re: New DSI instrument!

vco based synth would be nice. get rid of the extra features and instead focus on the pure tonality and build quality. it seems most dsi stuff has some issues so a product that's solid from start to finish would be wonderful. it can't be that hard can it?

Re: Gate splitter

what you seek is a basic multiple. get a box, drill some holes, and wire together several input TS jacks.

plug one cable and the rest will have the same signal ...

do ya love me? ;-)

Re: Elektron Octatrack!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLK62viqPfQ see now something like this I found very interesting. but imagine instead of a record and a dj mixer you have the octatrack hooked up to an aux or bus on a proper mixer with live drum machines and synths running. I think this is something that the octatrac...

Re: DCB to Midi : Roland MD-8

The MSQ-700 won't work for your pusposes. You can only use the DCB or MIDI inputs separately on it, in other words using the DCB port disables the MIDI ports and vice a versa. Its only use is as a hardware sequencer. OP only stated he wanted to do MIDI sync, which I'm almost certain the MSQ-700 can...

Re: Doepfer Dark Time Sequencer Update (finally)

Does Doepfer have a strategy for scaling up a system like this? For example, would you be able to chain 4 of these, so you can get 16 x 4 steps, which would be enough for a 4-bar musical segment like a verse or chorus? Or is Doepfer totally not concerned about things like that? I wonder how modern ...

as far as I know it' 101 and Pro One back in the early days. There was plenty of Xpander all over Belief. Showtime had a fair amount of System 700.
