What are some good soft samplers?

Hi,

I'm FRESHLY new to the world of samplers, so I cannot give you any specific info on what I'm looking for. I just basically want to know the names of some professional, yet inexpensive (More than $200 for software is too much IMO) soft samplers.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Can't choose between Yamaha Motif Rack ES & Roland Fantom XR

You can always check out YouTube for user demos or the Roland or Yamaha websites for demos. I don't know of anyone around here who is doing what you're wanting to do stylistically. That's why I recommend YT or the company websites. Additionally, you might want to post this on Harmony Central's KSS ...

Re: Can't choose between Yamaha Motif Rack ES & Roland Fantom XR

I thought you needed a Korg 01W/R, Roland D-550, Arturia Jupiter8V and want a Kawai K5m? That list is waaaay old. lol. Thanks for bringing that up b/c I forgot to update it. At that time, it's what I THOUGHT I wanted. As for checking them out in person, if I could do that, I would have no need to a...

Can't choose between Yamaha Motif Rack ES & Roland Fantom XR

Yamaha Motif Rack ES & Roland Fantom XR My question is which one between the 2 has better sounds for modern type of R&B and stuff like that, like realistic instruments as well as pads? To help you help me out better, the type of music that I do is actually late 80s revival type of stuff, but I want ...

Re: Ensoniq SQ-80 vs Roland D50

Interesting comparisons and contrasts between these 2 synths. I wonder why the SQ-80 doesn't have the classic appeal like the D-50 does though, it does have an amazing sound in it's own right, giving the fact that (IMO) sounds similar to the D-50, but with it's own charm as well.

Ensoniq SQ-80 vs Roland D50

I havent seen a comparison on this site about these 2 synths, if there is one, then I just didn't catch it. The SQ-80 seems to be a pretty warm synth, sounding like a D50. Wat are your thoughts about both of these synths compared to each other?

Re: thinking of making a "major" shift in production. Help!? :)

I use Acoustica Beatcraft for my drum programming. I like it because you can load your own samples into it, which is what I prefer doing. Once the drums are sequenced, I just render each drum track seperately or the whole thing in an .ogg file and render them into Acoustica Mixcraft 4 (DAW) . I am a...

Re: Interesting combos 1: Yamaha DX-100 + Korg M1 vs Roland D-50

Well a strange combo indeed.. I've got all 3 (ok a DX7 IId instead of a DX100) . If I layered my M1 with my DX-7... I would still be aware that I had samples playing back (without decent filters) from the M1. The DX-7 on the other hand, sounds great (no - not the 'epiano 80s presets') I'm talking t...

Interesting combos 1: Yamaha DX-100 + Korg M1 vs Roland D-50

Ok, so far I don't THINK anyone has done a thread trend like this one on this site yet, so I guess let me be the first to do so. This is about taking the limitations of 2 popular synths and combining them to make new sounds and seeing how it fairs up against a "competing" synth with similar but bett...

Re: Any VSTI versions of these synths?

These are some hardware synths that I came on the main site and saw and had gained some interest in. I was just wondering if any of you guys know if there are any good (Close to the real thing, not shitty) VSTI versions of the following ones listed... Casio CZ-1 Roland D-50 Casio VZ-1 Casio FZ-1 Ya...

Re: Any VSTI versions of these synths?

I dunno if it's that simple to say that the Korg M1 VSTI can emulate those other M1-based synths, as you would have to have the same ROM samples. The synthesis methods are different too from what I read. AI-synthesis was recycled to death, and you'll find a lot of the same waveforms in the later mo...
