Re: Weird shape of Yamaha TX7

I quite like the wedge shape and their solid feel. I have a TX7 sitting on a QX5 and looking to add a 2nd one to the pile. It's a weird design for sure, just like their REX-50 effects processor.

Re: Jarre on Electronic Music and America misunderstanding:

I was never one for controversy and I apologize for getting my own personal thoughts mixed with the topic. My first comment on Jarre wasn't even made in relation to the article or his music. I didn't want to prove a point though it resulted in doing just that. I don't want to dispute his claims eith...

Re: Jarre on Electronic Music and America misunderstanding:

Personally, I don't see tape-manipulation experiments or techniques as having anything to do with computer or synthesizer based music. This however, does...And how many more different examples exist outside of the whole 'musique concrete' world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EGFPZdiVqI https://ww...

That may be true in general but the D3 I have is super quiet...considering how much they crammed in a 1U rack.

Re: Looking for used (maybe vintage) line mixer recommendati

The TOA brand did a number of rack mixers that could be relatively easy and cheap to find.

Re: Tom Ellard Talks Synths.

I haven't read his blog/website in a number of years but wether I agreed with him or not, I always found his viewpoint interesting. Be it his life's observations or musing about gear and technology, then and now.

Re: Synth Defects - Ticking Time Bombs

The Peavey DPM line is prone to Ni-cad battery leakage issues. My V3 rack has not suffered any damage but doesn't retain patches anymore and I have to load them evey time I turn it on.

Re: Help identifying synth rack late 80´s early 90´s

The Victor NS-T9 Organ Expander (made by JVC in 1989) has to be the most sparse module I've seen...but it's bigger than the 1U rack the OP remembers. It's a somewhat limited 2 DCO synth. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/UJwAAOSwhwdVUMSs/$_57.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/nmgAA...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Does anyone have an idea of what synthesizer Shuki Levy used to compose/perform the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe music (1983). The reason why I want to know is because I might want to buy one. :newhere: Oberheim System (OB-Xa, DMX, DSX) but there's a a sampler as well...maybe an Emulator 1?
