Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

Co word with neketifromorbit. The worst: they are popular, specially on hip hop producers. If they look robust, don't get your self wrong, they are short life instruments, like other products assembled in China. The EMU hardware samplers rocks. Synths from Ensoniq like the Fizmo, ASR 10, ESQ1 or TS1...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?

EMU Halo sucks a big time. Imagine a command station with half the polyphony, 12 knobs missing, and no sequencer with a bunch of cheap plastic cheesy sounds. And the case is half plastic half metalic, so the plastic cannot support overusage, and the heavy metal parts, so it breaks down And it's ass...

Re: Interesting Casio SK-1 "Accident"

Try turning it up more. A lot of my recordings seem to be quite lately. I'm guessing because I record using an amp and not computer speakers. one thing I used to do to my SK-1 was sampling a sound, looping, pressing a key and hitting "loop" twice the fastest I could. I've done that too. It makes the...

Interesting Casio SK-1 "Accident"

This happened when I was recording my guitar in to my SK-1 (With a microphone). I hit my keyboard stand with the guitar and this came out. http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs46/f/2009/215/c/8/Casio_SK_1_Beat_by_retrosounds.mp3 What is interesting is that, although it was an accident, this sounded better t...

Re: Does anybody know what synths/keyboards these are?

The smaller one looks like some type of Yamaha or Casio (Most likely a toy keyboard)

A pad I made on the Poly-800

A nice sounding pad I made with the Poly-800:

Tell me what you think.
Note: Some (very little) reverb from the KORG DRV-2000 was added.

Since no one won this round, I'll come out and say this was done on the Poly-800.

Re: Guess that synth (New Clip)

Another one.

Your choices are:
1.Korg Poly-800
2.Roland Alpha Juno-2
3.Korg DS-8
4.Ensoniq ESQ-1

It is somewhat quiet, so you may have to turn up your speakers.

Re: your drum machine

I use an EM-1 and sometimes I'll build drums in Audacity (Which is good for making drum samples).
