Re: Most intuitive/educational current analogue monosynth?

Checking out the SOS articles and probly will watch the linked tutorials too. Got a blue Microbrute SE myself recently and enjoying it, but doesn't hurt to have something a bit more structured to help me learn. I've made some really fun sounds so far tho, definitely enjoying it. The Mini and Microbr...

Re: Which Odyssey color?

I really like the whiteface and voted for it, but if I can't swing one before they're all sold out, I will be happy w/the black and orange. The black and gold color scheme, plus the extra bits of color, reminds me of an old Zenith TV for some reason. Haven't seen it in person, but the mk 2 just look...

Re: Akai Analogue Polysynth: Timbre Wolf

It's the classic "Mogue" vs "Moo-g" argument. actually Moog is a proper name of a person. So it is not as open to interpretation. However he said his name, that is the pronunciation. And he also said that different people in his family pronounced it both ways so either was fine with him. So I say i...

New line of Yamaha synths designed in collaboration with Dave Smith in 5...4...3... I guess that's one way to get back into the good graces of the synth heads.

Re: Prophet 6

Just gather the family together and explain to them that there will be no food on the table for the next few months, cos daddy is getting a new synthesizer. They'll understand. They can always ask friends. Well if I hadn't gotten a blue Microbrute SE, Moogerfooger Ring Mod, Volca Beats and Bass and...

Re: Prophet 6

The Prophet looks amazing tho. Out of my budget, but very cool (saving ;) A couple of months and you'll be there!! I'mma do it!) Well got fired 2 weeks ago so trying to get a new job, stuff is going on credit at the moment so hafta dig back out of that and I have 3 kids, so a $3000 synth isn't the ...

Re: Prophet 6

SO you can snag the new Prophet 6 for $2800 and then drop another $400 on the Akai 2 octave polysynth. Why just 2 octaves, makes so little sense. The Prophet looks amazing tho. Out of my budget, but very cool

Re: HUGE MOOG MUSIC NEWS COMING MONDAY

Step 1: Win the lottery Step 2: Get slapped silly by my girlfriend when she realizes how much money I spent buying one of each Step 3: Change name and move to another country when she realizes how annoying I would be w/a set of all these :) PS $76,300 would get you one of each of these new modular i...

Did you ever read the thread over at GS where Brian Leisgang was discussing helping Billy Corgan record his solo album? Really interesting and super synth heavy discussion.

Re: Stacking oscillators on the Minibrute

Just for fun I decided to map out all the inputs and outputs of my stuff. Not counting the 106 that needs work or the JX-8P as I don't have space for them right now. Microbrute SE CV In: 1/8" Gate Metal Pitch Filter Saw PWM Sub CV Out: 1/8" Pitch Gate ENV LFO 1/4" Audio In 1/4" Audio Out MIDI IN USB...

Re: Behringer discussing making ARP Odyssey now

All valid points calaverasgrande. I'm very interested in the Korg version, if the price is as reasonable as the MS20 Mini (which is still on my want list), but I'm also willing to consider Behringer produces a good product. Even if they do have more misses than hits (which seems to be the usual onli...

Re: Behringer discussing making ARP Odyssey now

Behringer so far has only made keyboard controllers. Korg has made pretty much every kind of synth gear at one point or another. Behringer has more to prove here. I'm still not convinced that they can make an analog synth that scales well and stays in tune enough to record with. If either of the tw...

Re: Proper cables for Monotron and Microbrute connectivity

Although those units have 3.5mm output jacks, they are mono (2-conductor). For use with headphones you need a 2-conductor male to 3-conductor female adapter. MicroBrute output is 1/4" mono, any guitar cable will do. I meant for the CV connections on the Microbrute, which are 1/8". The Audio out and...
