Re: Help identifying a synth

so many synths could make those kinds of noises...

i'd say start playing with software synths before you spend any money.

Anyone got an MFB-522 yet?

Seems theyre available now,

I really want to hear about the noise-floor.. the 512/513 IMO were too noticeably noisy.. but the demos of the 522 sound alot better!

Re: The trading thread ?

it might be useful in those cases, but it also blocks people out of doing other trades, eg, I want to get rid of my blofeld, and I'd like any one of a number of options - not all of them of even near equal value. I'm not willing to throw half the blofeld's value away though, so it means for some rea...

Re: The trading thread ?

I think having an entire trade section would be a good idea, rather than just a single thread if you post in buy, you miss out on people looking to get rid of their something. If you post in sell, you miss out on people looking to get one of your somethings. Where would the traders thread even go if...

Re: production and myspace q's

I also noticed that another track of mine with a lot less bass (Squidstep), sounded a lot louder even tho they are recorded at the same levels... I don't get it... This means that the peak of the track that sounded quieter, was probably in the sub-frequency range. The second one sounded louder beca...

Re: arturia analog factory experience

It's not sampled, it uses virtual analog modeling. It's a good choice if you're after vintage analog sounds and only need to be able to make tweaks to presets rather than programming from scratch. It can be a CPU hog, though (track freezing helps with that). If you want to hear what it sounds like,...

Re: THinking of selling my blofeld?

It's up for trade now,
I'd like to trade it for a desktop evolver,
would also consider a Radias R or even an MS2000R/BR
Or a waldorf Q rack

(with money between where necessary)

within australia preferably.

Re: HQ Sampler/Hardware w/ Ableton type workflow.

what do you mean by 'click it and it just goes' do you need automatic time-stretching? or just something that will trigger loops (where you already have them set at a certain bpm, and have the device set at that bpm)? The SP series has pretty terrible timestretch, but if you put a loop in it where y...

Re: Hardware effects?

i like behringer stomp boxes. cheap and works well except that they seems to eat battery more then my other brand stomp. i wouldn't jump on it but in the studio it works damn well. you might have fum with an old zoom guitar multi-effects I think the behringer pedals are pretty good, I use some.. th...

it doesnt have that gradual and controlled buildup/evolution that makes acid so magical to me.
