Re: Waldorf Blofeld - I'm Lovin' It!!

ahh I see what you mean.

still, its kinda hard to use up 16 slots on one synth!! (I'd love to hear someone do it with the blofeld though... would be positively lush if the balance could be maintained)

Re: New DSI Prophet '08 POT EDITION

Damn I thought it was made out of marijuana or something. Disappointed now. I've never been a big fan of endless encoders, since you need to watch the screen all the time when turning a knob to see where you are. try removing your earplugs! it never really occurs to me "set cutoff to 6 oclock...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld - I'm Lovin' It!!

I never understood how that worked with other synths..

if a synth is X part multitimbral, how can it also be X + all the extra drum parts... doesnt make much sense to me.

Re: New DSI Prophet '08 POT EDITION

I actually prefer encoders to pots, especially on multitimbral synths.

and smoking pot while playing a p08 sounds like a jolly good time.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld - I'm Lovin' It!!

the multis basically are drum maps, since you can set the key range and transpose of each part.

Re: wich samplers does load .wav live?

conventional "sampler" you have to load things in before you are using them, you can't do it live. a looper or something that can REsample, is usually able to load sounds in LIVE while you are messing around with it. technically a looper is still a type of sampler, i just meant it sounds like you do...

Re: Am Considering Selling A Coulple Of Synths

I've only ever sold things locally once, and that was through a forum to a trusted member.. Ebay's feedback scoring system is pretty useful - for starters, you can tell if people have either a bad history, or no history at all.. and secondly, people who have a good history, wont want it tarnished by...

Re: Am Considering Selling A Coulple Of Synths

No, ebay should be a last resort. Selling locally is much easier, and you don't have the hassle of packaging etc. or the expense of ebay fees. A HS80 would go for a little more than an Alpha Juno I think. Anyway, most folk will haggle. In that case, go with your gut. Are people really so tight that...

Re: Am Considering Selling A Coulple Of Synths

just put it on ebay with zero starting price and see how much it sells for :P It will sell for however much people are willing to pay for it, and then you'll know what its worth... and not have to worry bout selling it anymore.

Re: wich samplers does load .wav live?

the MPC500 and MPC1000 allow you to play a sample chromatically. Dont know about the rest.

you dont want a sampler though!

you want a looper or something with live resampling.

I think you should look at getting a KP3.. goes great with DS-10.

Re: Looking for a step sequencer

The reason people are recommending the nemo is because most cheap hardware step sequencers are a little annoying in some way or another... I've tried most of them and this is what I've found. You might like the RM1X/RS7000/COmmand Station, but you might not. The EMX probably is your best bet given t...

Even better than actually using the EA-1 sounds, you can just sequence things on your blofeld with it!

Re: Is it worth buying a x0xb0x if I've got Virus TI/MC909/JP8K?

while I agree that a simple setup is probably the easiest to use, a 303 is not the kind of thing that can really be emulated without a 303 or pretty close clone. It's like if you have a digital filter.. but want an anlogue one as well. you're introducing redundancy in terms of having 2 boxes that do...

Re: Is it worth buying a x0xb0x if I've got Virus TI/MC909/JP8K?

Heh. . If I had a credit card.. I'd max it the first day I got it.

It sounds like it'd be worth you saving up for it if you love the sound that much though. or taking on the credit and paying it off.
