Re: Animoog acting buggy with ios5

I have that same problem...although my purchased copy of Animoog has never produced any sound before or after I downloaded the latest OS for my iPad 2. In fact right after I downloaded Animoog, several of my other apps stopped producing sound as well...haven't quite figured out why yet...I know upda...

Re: What synth have you bought more than once?

Bought and sold: 1) Yamaha CS15 2X's 2) Future Retro XS sold once and just repurchased... :D 3) way to many other analogs/digital s to even remember. I will say that I extremely glad that I have repurchased the XS...one of the very best newer synths ever made IMHO. It works well with my 2 Modular sy...

Re: Moog new "Little Secret"

I just bought it, but I don't get any sound out of it (...and yes, I made sure that the vol was set on a higher setting). My other musical apps however do produce sound. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Chimera synth question not about ordering problems

Hi, yes you can use the bc9 with out plugging anything into the cv or gate...but it's more fun if you do! They are great units and very versatile. I have 2 of these and I love mine. There is someone on another forum who is selling one at a great price...PM me if you are interested and I can send you...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

When I had mine, I was using a Future Retro XS (using the midi to CV) to drive the SEM, and the XS's portamento transmitted to the SEM beautifully. In fact the XS IMHO has the best smoothest portamento, (somewhat logarithmic) and really made the SEM shine. I also have a Kenton Pro solo II, but I don...

Re: What got you into synths?

Easy...it was Tomita's "Snowflakes are Dancing" LP. From there I fell in love with bands such as Yes, ELP, Genesis, Rush, and ELO...loved ELO's "Time" album...chocked full of synthesizer goodness! Jaime

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

I'll have to try using my bc-1 again to double check if there was any stepping, but it seems like it was quite smooth. I've also tried this on my MS-20 which was way cool...it was really sounding like a didgeridoo. I have found that the Kenton converter is overall my favorite due to it's smoothness....

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Yes I can use my Kenton CV/midi converter and use velocity on the filter...could also route this into a multiple to control filter, envelope, etc all at once...I've also used my Yamaha bc-1 breath controller on the filter which is also very cool! Jaime

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Well yes, I probably did over build a bit, but I've really grown fond of the Euro modules and what they can do. I've actually changed a few things in the cabinet (which by the way was from a set of 2 old stereo speakers I bought at a local goodwill...dirt cheap). since this picture was taken. I stil...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Well for me I ended up putting together a small but powerful Euro Modular system to augment my SEM. See the following 2 pics: http://i49.tinypic.com/29w6529.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/2rc4k6f.jpg I really like this setup, however, I kind of ended up overspending, so I'm in the process of selling my ...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

Hi, I have a pp version and love it. I also have a Kenton Pro ll driving it and its great, however, I think the fact that Tom has analog portamento for his midi version would tip the scales in that direction for me if I were to buy a second one...which I'm thinking of doing...the Kenton offers 2 typ...

Re: Moogerfooger cp-251-will it be good enough for MY voltages??

I too have a new OB SEM patch panel version, and the very best portamento comes from my Future Retro XS. It is very Oberheimish...(non linear.)...very musical! I just hook up the CV and Gate outs from the FR XS to the OB and it works beautifully! It is set up to respond when you are playing legato a...
