My first recording :D

Hi all!
I went down to goodwill today and grabbed a cassette recorder to record my bedroom sessions.

I'm just a beginner so I'm sure it's far from special.

Any suggestions for the next attempt?

Thanks - Ryan

That RED BUTTON is fricken awesome. But @ $199.99 , its really pricey for not having the quantize feature I was lookin for.
Thanks for the suggestion :)

Independent Start/Stop, midi / Sync24

Howdy! I'm using an MC-202, and when I switch from write mode to play mode while my midi master is running, it starts playing immediately, not waiting to start on the beat. I'm looking for a way to send a quantized (1, 1/2, 1/4 bar, etc) start/stop sync 24 instruction which is independent of the mas...

Re: MPC 2000XL :(

arg, didn't think of that, I'll call tomorrow when they open, maybe another will work; they just don't fit in the proper housing... hopefully that's the case cause aesthetics wont matter on such an ugly piece of kit :)

MPC 2000XL :(

This screen issue's a real bummer. Called VST today and they told me that its likely that no one will EVER make another screen for it. And yet, I can get replacement buttons & pots for an '808, '303, or '909. I know screen's are much more complex than buttons or pots, and that the old roland stuff i...

Re: Compressor + Overdrive Pedal?

I use a Alesis 3630. Got it on craigslist for 70 bucks. 2 channel so you can side-chain an instrument to duck the kick drum and pump the bass. Its rack-mount but mine just sits in the corner.

Selecting a tabletop synth.

Hello All! I'm new to using forums in general so bear with me :) I recently acquired the following synths/drum machines: Roland TR 808, Tr 909, TB 303, MC 202, MC-300, and a Korg MS-20 with a Kenton Pro MkII. New to making music in general, but I have learned to use each piece of gear and have begun...
