Re: What is this Synth?

Sounds like one of the raw, saw wave style oscillators from something like NI Massive, more or less unfiltered. Might even be an initiated patch

It's not the constant asking, but that the asking never goes anywhere and only leads to different aaking that gets tiresome. The blue thing is this lexicon reverb

Re: Juno 60 with no oscillator output

I think you're on the right track with that. Wonder if there's a schematic easily available online? That's also good I formation about the buttons. It's probably not them, but the part that needs to be clean is the contact portion inside the synth. You might not be able to see if a layer of dust or ...

Re: Juno 60 with no oscillator output

Can you get self oscillation noise from the filter? Also, what do the lights above the buttons do? The buttons are probably the cheapest and easiest fix - I would make sure it's not a button / knob / switch problem first, then proceed through trouble shooting dry joints and other connections, then m...

Re: Is it just me, or is the 707 everywhere these days?

I wouldn't know if it's become popular again, but it sure is an awesome machine. Yes, you don't have the ability to edit the sounds, but it's compact, light weight, sounds and looks awesome, and has one of the all time great UI's, complete with the little mixer section for volume controls. The cymba...

How similar is what you're describing to the Tascam DP 32SD (or similar devices)?

Re: What synth is used in the gold HQ scene in Blade Runner?

Has he ever talked about what he used in BRB? And how did this impression that it's the CS80 begin? Was there a good reason for it beginning, aside from just generally how the patch sounds?

I didn't realize he worked on Laura Branigan's self control. What a great song... I actually thought his work reminded me of self control before learning he contributed to it.

Give it a try if you like it - It has a chord dictionary, which is pretty neat.

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!

It's interesting you shpuld mention that, because I kept my favorite one of the two, which was older, rattier, but better sounding for some reason, which we discussed in another thread. I probably sound like a broken record with that story. It will probably be my dying words... "*cough, weeze... did...

Just go back and look at what we did in the other thread, and make the new competition identical to that one

Re: One synth songs

Exactly: name the account "one synth comp 2017," then when people are ready to submit their songs, they send you an email, and once the deadline hits, they get the pasword. After a few days, voting is closed and someone wins! OR We do that thing they do in sports where they start off with a lot of c...

I actually lost money selling my second one out of shipping ignorance. I hope the buyer loves that synth! I should have held in to it as an investment... Although they are bulky

Re: One synth songs

In the past we've just made a SoundCloud account for the competition, and gave the participants the password so they can submit their song, then posted the embedded links in the competition post.

Sometimes we don't get enough participants to separate them into categories

Re: Drum sampler recommendation

The electrons have a dedicated following, but they are certainly pricy. What about the Volca sample? You also have electribes, boss SP samplers, and of course the classic MPC series, which may be the perfect tool for the job.
