Re: best book about home recording?

+1 Mixing Engineer's Handbook by Bobby Owsinski, almost done with it. Gonna go back through and write down my cliff notes to hang up visibly in the space. I'll definitely check out modern recording techniques, too.

Re: Modular synth and moog little phatty

ha! i have an a-119 and pittburgh outs too. they were some of my first euro pieces to compliment my phatty(and other cv synths). as for an attenuator, i needed a mixer too, so i got the pittsburgh audio mixer/attenuator.

Re: Suggestions for deserted island synth

The V-Synth doesn't have any workstation qualities, the Virus is less knobby than the PolyEvolver and the PolyEvolver perhaps has the least depth of the three.. I want to avoid software if possible (the reason being I'm having a hard time considering a laptop as musical). Would like a multi-...

Re: Suggestions for deserted island synth

V-Synth for workstation qualities, Indigo 2 for knobiness, size, durability. Poly Evolver, so deep you might want to be in a submarine. I've been dedicating myself to its sequencer lately and the synth just never ceases to surprise me.

Re: Question from newb about home studio recording/set-up

I'm using a roland vm-3100 mixer($100) running into an apogee one(one input) interface, one way to go about getting multiple sources to the same destination. Another option i'd reccommend is a motu audio interface.

Re: equipment that instantly inspires workflow

my buddy played his monotribe through my tapedeck when he got it a couple weeks ago. hmmmmm, analog through tape. can't wait to see how my 606 and the monotribe get along(probably in a few hours) i've always thought about how cool it'd be to have a battery powered electronic meetup at the park.
