Ah, Empty Rack Space Syndrome...
What synths do you have already? JV1010, above? One of the several Yamaha FM modules (FR, TX, etc.) or a Yamaha VL70m? Or half-rack ROMplers like a Korg NS5R, if you must. Or a JoeMeek or FMR compressor to smash some audio with?

Yep, the battery would be the first thing I'd check (it's also the cheapest possibility, so you'd want to try that first).

Re: What's the dif between Jomox XBase 09 & XBase 09SE
Third search result on Google for me: "The XBase09 SE is an advanced XBase09 with the 4-fold sample ROM in the Hi Hat section. They only differ to the normal XBase09 by a silver SE sticker. On Hi Hats, Claps, Rim and Crash you have the following selection: 909/808/CR78/JMX The OS is the same as on t...

Re: Mackie LM-3204 question.
The LM3204 only has the "in" multi-pin connector for the LM3204e, it doesn't have an 'expander out' connector. You might be able to make your own breakout cable if you can find the same kind of connector, a bunch of 1/4" plugs, a wiring 'pinout' diagram of the 'expander' connector, and are handy wit...

Re: BEST CONFIGURATION TO HOOK UP GEAR...
I open ableton then the Virus no longer works on the MIDI timing coming from MC909. It seams like at this point because it is also USB connected Ableton takes over Virus. Do I disconnect USB cable from Virus to pc? or Do I disconnect MIDI cable coming from MC909 to Virus and use Virus only on USB? ...

Or, they're just discontinuing the MC-808 and not coming out with another "Groovebox" product right now.StepLogik wrote:Don't everyone spray your pants with excitement, but there could be a new Roland groovebox on the way. The MC-808 has been moved to the "legacy" section of the US website.

Re: The first thing you sampled
One of the first, if not the first, was an answering machine message from the neighbor calling in a noise complaint about our band - "this is your back door neighbor, and if you don't stop that, I'm going to call the police." Of course we used it in a song. He really did call the police, too. :shock...

Re: My Sh-1 Needs help
1) Go through the "Parts for vintage synthesizers" sticky-thread at the top of the "Help!" forum, and visit the websites, call, or email the sources you see listed there - many of them are worth at least trying, and many of them have parts in stock that aren't listed on their websites 2) post a "wan...

External wall-wart power supply on that one, isn't it?
Sounds power-supply related to me - just a hunch.

Re: Question about Kenton MIDI to CV
The MCV4 works great "out of the box" with the SH-09.
However, if you want to use portamento, get the Kenton. The MCV4 can haz pitchbend, but no can haz portamento - regardless of any "portamento" setting on the SH-09 (its "portamento" is only applicable when using its own keyboard).
