Re: Korg Micro Sampler

I kind of retract what I said about it before. Judging from the pics, it actually looks kinda awesome all lit up with the gooseneck attached.

And I can see that they put stereo audio in's on it. Thats a BIG plus considering that they didnt even bother doing that on the Microkorg or the EMX :?

Re: Which Electribe?

Okay looks like I've been convinced, ES-1 it is. Bit academic now then, but here's a fantastic demo of the ES-1 loaded with Linn drum samples, courtesy of VSE member Harlemnights: HarlemNights is the man....definetly some of the best Ele...

Re: New from Roland: SP-404SX

very dissappointing upgrade.. still no proper pitched-sample playing, still no amp envelopes, still only single track sequencing, still no velocity sensitive pads. great, if you want to play a 32gb wav file though.. Very discouraging indeed. I was pondering their for a minute whether or not ...

Hardware all day, everyday

But by all means use what you have at you're disposal to its fullest capabilities.

Re: Korg Micro Sampler

Im not sure the exact street release date, but Im pretty sure that the box their handling in that video is nothing more than vaporware. Hopefully they'll add a pitch and mod wheel, and change the bland appearance of the interface before release :?

Re: Hardware Sampler suggetions ?

I understand this narrows my choices ... intended . I was hoping to hear some thoughts on some of the gear from their owners . I guess I can update the criteria to be at a min of 12 voices of polyphony ,however the usb and storage requirements still stand . The stellar resampling capabilities on th...

Re: What sampler shoud I buy?

why you should get a zoom st224 sampletrak: -plastic -awful preamps that wont do any justice to your sound sources. -hard to program sequencer(everything is punched in by hand in time to a click). -no real screen, a simple numeric readout and then to sweeten the deal theres some added ZOOMFX on the...

Re: What sampler shoud I buy?

You cant go wrong with either the ES-1 or the ESX-1. You can make an entire COMPLETE song in either if you wanted too. Both boxes offer the essential tools one needs to do such a thing i.e. Internal EQ, automated mixing, compression and basic sequencing. The thing with the electribes is...they come ...

Re: Wich sampler will you buy without hesitate

For me the issue with most of the earlier AKAI samplers is that they are poor when it comes to moulding sounds. The S900/950/1000 sound great with percussion but sadly lack decent crossfade looping and don't have resonant low pass filters. Totally agree with you on that. And too some degree Akai st...

Pretty sure David Frank from the system used an Oberheim back in the early to mid 80's.

The ESX and the EMX are built pretty damn solid. Big improvement over the first generation electribes.

And yes the MPC 2k is built like a tank. In 1999 AKAI was still making quality products out of sturdy materials.
Sure isnt that way now though!
