Re: first thing you do when getting a new synth.

-plug it in and rock-out on presets
-call up a few friends to jam with, wile showing off the new keys.

If its something special to me, I might take a photo of it and post it here to brag

Re: dead G key on Alesis Ion

It's possible to remove the ION's keybed without taking the synth completely apart.
Just locate the screws underneath the keybed and the unit should come right off.

Re: those fancy stands for synths

I totally agree about the OB-Matrix 12 stand being unpractical. The stand Bobbs/Swivels/Pivots/Rotates/Moves/Chaotic/Unrealistic/Carpal tunnel...... bla bla bla I would imagine its like having a keyboard mounted to a Bobble head figure. It seems you would need to keep consent hold of the stand...

Re: Virus b Ctrl and Edit button failure

try this: -backup your sound patches, and any information you do not wish to lose "via SysEx". -reinstall the Virus-B OS 4.5 "use any MIDI sequencer. I used my RM1x to transfer sound-patches and OS files" I wouldn't say the synth is F@&Ked. It sounds like a simple OS hickup. -you can also try this. ...

Re: Vocoder lyrics - do you read me?

maybe trying a different setup with the vocoder would improve the audibility of your vocals. how do you have it setup now? I rout my Vocoder through the FX's of the mix and MIDI to something else. -so I am Mic'd to mixer and not the vocoder its self- this allows the vocals to come out clean, and the...

Re: those fancy stands for synths

Here's a original Idea...
-a Keyboard stand mounted to a Segway ROFL!
talk about how interesting that would be to see live.

I could use a A-frame rack/stand in the studio..

Re: What is your "Sound"?

I have no sound :( just haven't discovered what works for me yet. The 8-bit / 16-bit retro audio video game stuff I use to do, aggravates me now. I'm currently trying a scratchy/dirty/gritty/grungier sound with the Virus, but haven't found a rhythm that goes with the sound patches i'm building. .. c...

Re: those fancy stands for synths

I've got a Ultimate-Stand in my arsenal. mine's not the high-end fancy model like the one you hot-linked, but its still convenient for live setups. I like how easy they are to break down, and also how little room they take up storing.

Re: my friend is giving me an asr-10

maybe I'm over looking this in the manual. but I've had my ASR-88 for over a year now, and still cant figure out how to chop a sample across the keys. granted I use it as a MIDI board more than a sampler. I find the interface impossible to follow. "shrugs" I've have no problem with my ESI-32, this A...
