Re: first moog synth...

actually i think i would grab any of them if i had a good occasion but its true that for what john is asking the micro fits the purpose (if this expression exist or make any sense)*. it is a moog after all ,compared to being ''like a'' moog. and the reliability should come with it as well as the sou...

Re: first moog synth...

john , personally i would go for the mg-1 . the mini has up to three oscillators but lets say we use only two because we like to do modulation. now what will get you closer to the sound of a two oscillators analog synth, a one osc synth or a two osc synth?? i know it sounds retarded to ask that ques...

Re: dsi mopho

you can but i find everything a bit unintuitive to program on the desktop version. thats why i am looking into getting the keyboard mopho. it would double up as the perfect controller for my voyager RME in live situations . maybe i'll keep the desktop unit to make it duophonic, specially if i cant e...

Re: JX-3P - hidden memory slots problem

you dont need rare gear to save jx-3p patches. if you cant do a midi dump (migth not be possible since the midi implementation is very primitive) you can use the tape memory , it is pretty straigthforward. all you need is a device that can record audio. doesnt have to be a tape machine. just wire th...

Re: Mopho feedback: Making it scream?

hey i wont complain about the use of toys, recently someone lended me THE classic roland vocoder and instted of using it on my new tracks i use a fisher price tape recorder that does alien , robot and frankeinstein voices wich i am mikin' from the crappy built in speaker with a sm58. i guess this co...

Re: hi again. has everyone gone a little soft

in the last years i did the opposite . i started out in systhesis with software like most people in my generation i suppose . but moved quickly to hardawre because a physical synthesizer feels like a musical instrument under my hands . its all about the relationship you have with youre soundsource ....

Re: Mopho feedback: Making it scream?

i see what you mean , like you the feedback function gave me results closer to earth shakking farts than ear piercing squeals. my desktop mopho is gathering dust rigth now , but thats because of its interface only because i love the sounds it makes. maybe if we turn off those sub oscillators it coul...

Re: Mini-Korg 700 pricing

one year ago i let one pass that was 400$ when i realised the two oscillator 700s was way more appealing . 700$ seems like a lot especially if its not a 700s. but i guess if its in really good condition its migth be worth more since this is a very old synth . anyway be prepared to pay even more to g...

Re: First steps into DIY synthesizer

here is the shematic and part list for a very easy to build oscillator . i think the freaquency sweeps are more fluid than the APC (atari punk) http://www.electronics-project-design.com/Basic-Electronic-Project.html i built the circuit with my friend it works and doesnt cost much, its still on the b...

Re: Moog Voyager XL

i think the 5 octave keyboard is not that stupid in the context of a modern computer driven studio (or a midi studio) . it can double up as a capable midi controller and symplify your setup. (if thats what you want)

Re: Moog Voyager XL

why dont they put on a switch for trigger modes ?? i think its an important feature , i hate diving in menus for such a basic function . and a switch for manual mode (real panel parameters) would have been nice. This is a good point. They extended the synth's size considerably, but instead of havin...
