Re: Rack Drum Modules?

Thanks for all the input. The jomox and Novation are a little high priced for what I want to do with this.If I ever pay over a grand for a drum machine it will be a tr 808. As it is I have so so so many 808 samples in my mpc .So I am leaning on the r8m.I dont care that it does not have a sequencer.Wh...

Re: Rack Drum Modules?

Hmm.. the only rack drum modules I can think of is the Roland R8m and DDR30, but I think some sort of rack sampler would be the best choice. the r8m looks pretty sweet and I dont know about the ddr30. Have to look into that one .I dont want a sampler as I use my mpc5000 as a sampler/seq. Maybe I sh...

Re: Kiwi Technics Universal Sound Editor

I've got one (#2, actually). It works well, and the creator is incredibly helpful -- in fact he's taken a serious look at adding support for a number of synths at my request. He's looking in to giving it support of software and other hardware through a software interface. I'm very happy with mine. ...

Re: Analogue Solutions Vostok mk-1

Never used one, but they have always interested me, I've wanted one for a while. If you decide not to get it, shoot him a message saying your not interested, but you know someone who is. I would seriously consider it as a next purchase, though it would kill my funds im saving for a nice compressor ...

Re: Jx8p or Prophet 600?

Ya, I don't think the youtubes of the 600 are great, they don't really show it off but I find it's not a very warm sounding synth, surprisingly the JX8P sounds warmer to me? Thanks the roland has DCO"S the Prophet has a VCO.DCO"S sound lush where VCO's sound more raw.Very few dco's can sound like V...

Re: Analogue Solutions Vostok mk-1

I haven't used one myself, and there are lot of crummy demos out there of it in my opinion, but this demo and this demo suggest it would be a useful, and interesting synthesizer to me. yea that first one was the best i found online too.alot of non plesnet demos on you tube. here is this one playing...

If I were in your shoes, and I had no major financial responsibilities, I'd buy it just to develop a good rapport with him. Don't haggle with him about the price, but when you pick it up talk to him as much as you can about how your interested in buying some of the more vintage or rare gear he's go...

Re: Performing Solo Live

It's possible to load and trigger MIDI patterns with an MPC1000? Is this like "hit a pad, play a pattern" or how do you guys use this functionality? yes it is possible. You can hit a pad play a pattern but I actually like having a base pattern with correct drum.synth/fx sounds loaded up and beat and...
