Re: Problems with buyer who bought my synth

if it was outside ebay then he has no protection, unless he used a credit card and can do a chargeback. you did everything you could to prove the synth was working, though if you did a poor packing job that wouldn't be his fault... So I wouldn't worry about it, just see what happens and don't accep...

Re: Best of DX

Thanks mate. I don't actually have a SY77 yet. I bought one a couple of weeks ago but the seller somehow lost it in transit.

I will try loading the files to floppy when I eventually get a SY77.

Thanks!

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD

Damn it! The deal I had going fell over when the seller LOST my SY77 in transit! He is refunding me... so the hunt is back on.

If you have a SY77 or a SY99 for sale, please contact me.

Regards,
Chas

Re: Problems with buyer who bought my synth

Thanks urgetoplay. I told the guy to send me pictures of his connection... no reply yet.

Ashe37, so you think he could've damaged it?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Small digital studios

Well, I have a relative who has been producing music for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and solo artists for 25 years. At the moment I know he only uses one keyboard, the Roland XP-30, and a rackmount Triton. He has in the past owned the classic Juno 106, DX-7 etc but with the condensing of technology i.e ...

Problems with buyer who bought my synth

I just sold a perfect condition, working Korg N364 to a buyer in the US who now claims it won't power on. I took out tracking info and shipping insurance and the item was delivered in good standing. I asked him if he was using a transformer and he said no. So I sent him a message saying he needs a t...

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD

Awesome.

Question, does the SY77 have some sort of internal power tap which will allow me to set it for 240V?

And is it something I can easily do myself?

Thanks :D

Re: Best of DX

Cool, I will have a look at that, thanks!

I found these on ebay, but the guy says I can't load them onto floppy? So how do I make the SY77 play the samples?

Where can I find a floppy of the "Best of DX" to load onto my SY77?

Thanks!

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD

As for SY77 not being a classic - I just don't agree. The SY77 has been a workhorse in many studios since 1990 but less on stage - so it's less "famous" through TV exposure but the 77 has been used on countless famous recordings and has been a secret weapon in the production of many new age and amb...

Cool trivia Pro5! You need to tell that to the VSE front page review editor.

Seriously, thanks for your help on the first page... :D

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD

Well, I have borrowed an XP-30 from a friend and I love it.

AND I have bought a SY-77 from the states... just waiting for it to arrive via snail-mail.

Thanks for the help!

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD

Thanks adamstan, good points.

Well I hope this will be my last question before I can go out and buy a synth:

SY-77 or the SY-85 for its AWM2? Or will I be better off spending extra for a SY-99?

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.
