Re: Abundance Paradox

some more practical advice: the key to software like audiomulch and max is having a good set of samples. take your guitar and ebow, plug it into your amp or just straight into your sound card, set up logic to record the input, turn out the lights and play guitar for a while. record everything. liste...

Re: Abundance Paradox

"I recently read that Robert Henke made "Silence" entirely in Live." robert henke is a genius, a professional sound designer, and has been making music for over 20 years. your situation is not comparable to his. when you get to that stage, i imagine you can make great music on any instrument the imp...

Re: Half Rack Space synth module? ...lo-fi weirdness needed

Re: Half Rack Space synth module? ...lo-fi weirdness needed

yamaha tq-5 http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_42nlqEi8nC4/SpGpHxsIIsI/AAAAAAAAB_k/b1Ez9oLvE5Y/s320/TQ5.jpg 4-op fm, 8-track sequencer, not sure but it probably requires a software editor to reach some of the deeper parameters (like many of the later yamaha fm synths) yamaha really did have the best design e...

Re: Akai's s900 or s2000

isn't the tx16w library archived somewhere already? maybe madtheory's site?

i've got the studio series 1 & 2 folders but sadly lots of the discs are missing. i'm quite keen to hear some of the pianos

Re: Making chopped up breaks/drum samples sound right...

Hey.. sorry I guess those adjectives could be meant that way.. I dont mean about being able to trigger crazy patterns.. I mean if I trigger a pattern like kick kick snare _ kick snare kick the gaps between the end of one sample and beginning of the other makes it sounds weird.. not the way/order th...

Re: Getting 808 Kicks to Fit in the Mix

Re: Ambient/Pad Synth

The Roland D-50 has some pretty good pad sounds. i LOVE the d-50 pad sounds in the Akira soundtrack, airy and breathy, but with a certain depth and thickness, like dense clouds of mist unfortunately my search for other interesting uses of the d-50 beyond the stuff that usually gets talked about lik...
