Re: Windows 7?

I don't have any hate for Apple, and I love the iPhone, but their marketing is hilarious. Re: OS/X and 64-bit: 64-bit computing used to be the province of scientists and engineers, but now this generational shift in computing gives all users the tools to apply the power of 64-bit to speed up everyth...

I simply won't stand for an Irishman telling me, a Canadian, to calm down. ;)

Re: Windows 7?

There's nothing to "go through". 32 bit software runs just fine on a 64 bit OS. Not being able to run a 64 bit plug in a 32 bit DAW or vice versa, has nothing to do with Windows or Microsoft, and you'd have the same issues on a 64-bit OS/X system. Furthermore, he's making it sound waaaay more compli...

Re: Dubstep Production

You're over-thinking s**t. Wobble bass is used because it sounds cool. The trance pumping effect is used because it sounds (to some) cool. And so on, and so forth. There'll always be some pedantic prick trying to make it into something intellectual - ignore it.

Re: Windows 7?

I've been running Win 7 since release now, and I'm pretty happy with it - HUGE improvement over Vista. Why would there be a difference in audio quality? Just make sure there are Win 7 drivers for your audio interface. All my vst's work fine in Win 7 as well, and I'm running 64 bit so you should be g...

Re: volume control on modular patch cable

This sounds like it'd be clunky and annoying unless you got somebody to custom manufacture it for you. Why not just buy some attenuators?

Re: How do I get this sound?

Doesn't your Moogerfooger have a built in envelope follower? I think that would do just fine.

Re: Modern Jupiter 8

I tried to install the JP8V but the computers I use for for my DAW are only networked together and never access the internet. The eLicenser wants me to access the web and that's not going to happen. Plugging into the internet for 5-10 minutes is not going to unleash three million viruses on your co...

Re: Awkward Pro One Filter Behavior

What are some of the dangers of using a residue free contact cleaner? I've been using it on everything since I discovered it - it even fixed the dodgy buttons on my iPhone after I spilled rum on it.

Re: Don't sell your f**k gear!

The only thing I regret selling was a Korg EM-1. I "upgraded" to an EMX but I didn't really like it as much. The other things I've sold (DX7, MS2000), I don't regret in the least.

Re: Thats it, I'm going modular ;)

I have to agree. You'll have to expand beyond that anyway, which will require getting a case, etc. I think you'd be better off starting with a decent sized case (6U or so), and just a few interesting models as shaft suggested, since it'll give more of a feel for the benefits of going modular and you...

Re: 3 osc mono analog

Did you ever read the manual? (not trying to be snarky, serious question) Everything on that synth requires button combos so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't catch that. To store a preset you have to hold SHIFT+RECORD, then press one of the keyboard buttons to select a slot. To insert ties in t...
