Re: 3 osc mono analog

I have an MFB Synth II and it DOES have patch memory. If by tie steps you mean join them together for legato, it can do that too. Glide doesn't work with the internal sequencer though which is strange and annoying. It's a great sounding synth though.

Re: Buzzy lead synths

One of the notes near the start of the track mentions Sylenth - wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was. Would jive with the Virus suggestion up there too since they supposedly sound somewhat similar. Most of the magic is probably in the distortion he used.

Re: Can someone give me some advice?? Pleasies ?

I was sure because I use a separate audio interface with my media center system - but doing some further research, you seem to be right, most of them aren't supported - guess I'm just lucky with mine.

Disregard that part of my post starfire. However, you should still give ASIO4ALL a try.

Re: Can someone give me some advice?? Pleasies ?

You can definitely add an audio interface with media center. The only difference between it and vanilla xp is the media center application, which was a retarded idea from the start. I was under the impression it was a seperate version of Windows before I had tried it, but that's all it really is - a...

Re: Starting small in the world of Modular synths

Good luck. I was going to do the Doepfer DIY but went eurocrack instead. Might still do it eventually when my bank account recovers since I like a nice project myself. As far as compatability, afaik all modular formats are compatible with each other. The only issue you'll run into is going from 1/4"...

Re: Which should i choose? :)

The classic acid sound is a 303. If that's what you want, get a x0xb0x. If you want more versatility, get an sh-101. If you want to be super cool acid chic, get both. I love the x0x, but if I was to have only one synth out of the two, I'd pick the 101 since it's more versatile.

You'll probably be able to get more info at the metasonix forum over at Muff Wiggler:

Re: 909, 808, 303 - Worth it?

I lost my lust for a 909 and drum machines in general for quite a while until I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKeVmmfeSPI There's just too many parameters for live tweaking to be that comfortable with a midi controller & hardware sequencer...and it just brings the machine alive the way he...

Re: Should I get an analog mixer? If so, which one?

I think even if I went all in the box, I'd still keep an analogue mixer around for that sweet, sweet distortion you get by overdriving the channel. Better sounding and less noisy than any distortion pedal I've tried.

Re: pedal controllers - why not so popular?

Just started using one with my Alpha Juno. Wish I had picked one up earlier, it's really useful. For a few months I thought it was broken since i didn't clue in to the fact that you need an insert cable to use it...oops.

Re: Getting my very first synth. Help?

MS2000 was my first synth and it is excellent for learning synthesis, and cheap too. I got mine for 350$ so you may even get lucky if you troll craigslist. Otherwise, just wait a bit and save, it'll be worth it.
