Re: is smoking in a room bad for the output of a synth

Fast forward a year later and I'm opening up my computer to change a pci card and anything white has now turned into this digusting coffee color, and there are bits of brown gunk all over the fans - I s...

I absolutely love the u-he stuff - by far the best softsynths I've ever used. ACE is excellent and Zebra was the first vst I actually had gear lust for.

Can't answer that for you, but in case you had the wrong link here's the manual:

If you can't open it, download Acrobat Reader first and use that to open it:

Re: New to synths, but want one

I have a K1-II...and it sucks hard. It's additive/sample based synthesis - you combine up to 4 sampled waveforms to make sounds. The samples are all low bitrate though, and not pleasingly so - very thin and noisy. There's no filter either, and editing it is fairly tedious since everything is in menu...

Sounds like a Dre beat...not bad; a little dry sounding for my tastes though - a little reverb maybe?

You can update it via USB. Mine wasn't working so I bought a preprogrammed chip from e-bay for 20 or 30$.

Re: what the tb-303 offer more then the x0xb0x?

The satisfaction of knowing you have the real 303 sound no questions asked. I think this is the most important point for a lot of people - it's the "real" thing. Not important for me so I got a x0xb0x and I'm very happy with it. Other than that, the 303 offers less than the x0xb0x - no MIDI, differe...

Re: Deadmau5 live setup

Could someone please tell me the appeal of this guy, from everything I've heard, he's one of the most boring by the numbers producers I've heard in a long time and he sequences like a bricklayer. I haven't heard a single moment of surprise or delight in anything he's done. I honestly believe that m...

Re: Tribute to Conan O'Brien

You should get this to the attention of Conan's people - maybe he'd even play a bit on the show; it's certainly good enough.

Looks like there's a forum, gotta be someone on the show who reads it:

Digg would probably eat it up too.
