Synth in flowtation

I'm wondering which synth is playing from the beginning in this sample. Listen to how it changes character as filter and more effects(?) are added. May not sound all that special to everyone, but I really love that liquid resonance, and the powerful lower midrange. A clean sample of this sound made ...

Re: Synth ID

Thanks a lot dude! Track ID and all :D So I take it then, that the polar is capable of sounding as dirty and edgy as any previous virus like the indigo? The youtube demos I've seen with the polar are mostly dealing with smother and not too weird sounds.

Re: Synth ID

It's too short to identify automatically, I'm afraid. I don't suppose you have a longer fragment. As for it being a Virus or not; the most discerning sound here is that of the phaser, which does sound Virus-like; but the basis of the sound could technically be any synth. If said producer has been l...

Synth ID

Thought it would be great to have a thread for synth ID's, as I couldn't find any dedicated thread for that. Should be very helpful for buyers, and others could show off their valuable knowledge and argue whether something is a nord lead 1 or 2 etc. :D Hopefully this will be a thread frequently post...

Re: Analog delay?

Thing is that when the time align function is not active I clearly can hear the sub hanging. I've tried to place my sub anywhere and nothing works. It needs to be placed into a wall to work any good and the best place is in my right corner. When time alignment is on there's no problems. I'm actually...

Re: Analog delay?

Yeah I guess there's no appropriate analogue way for time alignment then. That was my impression too, after searching in google, before I thought of these delay units. Too bad they can't do what I was hoping for. Guess I'll just have to look for a digital unit with a good converter. Anyway, thanks a...

Re: Analog delay?

You do realize that analog delays are sampling devices? The sound going through an analog delay is not a continuous signal; it's chopped up into samples just like a digital delay. And analog delays have all of the same concerns related to Nyquist frequency, clock jitter, etc., that digital delays h...

Re: Analog delay?

It's not my monitoring chain. I use my PC/soundcard as source whithout any preamp for that. The preamps is more of a hifi hobby thing, and I'd like to be able to try different preamps for their contribution to the sound, and I'd like to see how they sound when running the sub as well, whithout havin...

Re: Analog delay?

Ok thanks for the answers. So a conclusion would be that in principle it will work if I can find a unit with ms accuracy that goes down to about 3ms and has a sound quality that would justify its use. How about frequency bandwith and timing stability? It would have to have a pretty straight sound an...

Re: Analog delay?

Thanks for the info! Will check these maximizers out. So am I able to do as described in Reason with an analogue delay unit, or are these maximizers my only way out?

Analog delay?

Hello I need a device for time aligning my speakers and subs, and wonder if there are analog delay units that would behave like the DDL-1 digital delay line in Reason, in the sense that if feedback is set to 0 and dry/wet to 127, the sound signal would be delayed alone with no echo. It would have to...
