Re: Acer W3 Win8 tablet - anyone use one?

I've dumped ReNoise on mine. Every month I load it with samples from Computer Music and Future Music, and with a small stylus (definitely required) you can play around with small sequences and riffs. It's amazing how much experimentation you can get done with eight or ten 20-min bus rides to and fro...

Re: Which drum machine...

What a fluke - I was just reading a Steve Levine interview on Roland's UK blog while on a mission for some Clash info - it also included Beach Boys info. Not sure about the kick, but according to Steve the snare wasn't from a drum machine - but a snare recorded in a racket ball court. Since Steve wa...

Re: vintage synths with lights on sliders

Sorry - a little late to the party, but gotta say lights on sliders are pretty. Can't think of a synth, but the Boss Micro-Studio RPQ-10 pre-amp/parametric EQ has lights on the sliders that make it look like Xmas. I recently had a photographer pop into my studio to take some photos, and one of my 30...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

What a surprise! My MS20mini arrived yesterday! I'll be setting it up beside my original MS20 on the weekend and giving it a good run-through. Love the size and weight of the thing. The only word I can use to describe it is "adorable". :D Definitely a lot lighter than I thought it would be. http://w...

Re: Theoretic "huge" modular

I'm embarrassed to admit that I cheated a little when I first starting putting my eurorack together by including a Doepfer A-111-5 Mini Synth Voice module as part of phase 1. This way I knew I had at least one VCO, VCF, VCA, ADSR, and two LFOs, along with a variety of inputs and a few outputs. I als...

Re: Korg MS 20 step sequencer compatibility

Double plus good what Psy_Free said.

A Kenton pro solo mk2 attached to an ms20 is a wonderful thing. And you will find other uses for the Kenton - its like the swiss army knife of my studio. You can always use a few more of them.

Re: Midi Switch

Thumbs up to MIDI patch bays too. But they usually cost a little more than smaller (non-rack) units like the Casio TB1. But so much more convenient to slot into the rack you want to use it with. I have an Akai ME30P (4 In's, 8 Out's - programmable!) patch bay that I plan to hook up to my A-rack of s...

Re: Just how long was the D-50 produced?

The December 1990 issue of Keyboard magazine has a synth buyers guide and the D50 is listed with a retail price of $2,095, with all data current as of October 1990. The D50 is not listed in the December 1991 buyers guide. This leads me to believe it was probably taken off the market sometime in 1991.

Re: Midi Switch

Agree with jay200mph. I have two Casio tb-1s as well and love them. An easy way to add MIDI switching to your system.

Re: help syncing Pro One and Drumtraks

Try using one of the instrument outputs not the CLK out (which is a high freq clock originally meant to use as sync to tape signal)... Synthparts FTW! I tried all the individual audio outs... nothing worked. Then I tried the MET (metronome) out on the DrumTraks. Sure enough - quarter note clock. Sy...

Re: help syncing Pro One and Drumtraks

Try using one of the instrument outputs not the CLK out (which is a high freq clock originally meant to use as sync to tape signal)... I tried that too using bass drum, snare and hi-hats (figured different audio frequencies :) and I checked to make sure there was audio coming out of each too. None ...

Re: help syncing Pro One and Drumtraks

Howdy, I hooked up my DrumTrak's CLK OUT to my Pro-One's GATE/CLK IN and it does clock *very* fast. Definitely an external device needed. I have a stand-alone Kenton Pro Solo MK2 (NOT the USB model) and set it up successfully as follows. MIDI Cable: MIDI OUT from the DrumTraks to the MIDI IN of the ...

That made me spit out my drink.

Now all I have swirling around my head is this chant:

When do we want it?!
Now!

Heard back - he is indeed letting the domain go. No time to keep it maintained.

Emulator Archive... domain expiring? Disappearing?

Hi everyone, Looks like the Emulatorarchive.com Web site is down - domain expired on July 20, 2012. I'm gonna try and find contact info for Rob Keeble (I've only found his emulatorarchive.com email), but if anyone knows him, could you please let him know. He may just not be aware of it. And if he is...
