Re: Randomness in drum machines sounds (not the sequencer)

I understood what you were asking butI can see how it could le to a discussion about the sequencer as well. You're talking about the sound, as in every snare hit sounding the same. There are often variations with analog machines, whether or not the oscillators re-trigger or not. Sometimes it's mista...

Re: Randomness in digital and analogue drum machines

Not to fire up the old analog vs digital debate but samplers are not all you need for drum machine sounds.

Re: Do people really not like the Micromoog?

I don't know what the deal is but I had a Micromoog on extended loan from a band ate and absolutely loved it. This was before I got my Minmoog and I seem to remember liking the filter better than what I have on the Mini. Perhaps it is just the looks. I'll take it off your hands for twice what GC off...

Korg Electribe ES-1. Now, before the flames start, just consider that they are dirt cheap and some kid in Deroit or Chicago or Seattle or Mynock, North Dakota is playing with one as we speak. He's already re soldered the power input and replaced the missing knobs. He'll grow up in a few years and us...

Re: eBay Buyer from h**l!

You can get negative feedback removed. I once had a buyer who dinged me with negative feedback because she did not receive the item she bid on and I dd not respond to her numerous emails. The auction ended at 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and she left me the negative feedback at 9:00 that night. She...

I got sick of it.

I also got really tired of hearing DX7 and D50 presets.

Don't even get me started on auto-tuned vocals...

Re: the power of nostalgia, impulsive/compulsive, GAS, etc

Yes, spot on indeed. The strategy I have used has been to only buy at a bargain basement price. It keeps me from spending too much cash and if I hate the synth I can always resell it at a modest profit. Sometimes I end up selling something that I thought I would love or keeping something I thought I...
