Re: Saying it's live with a laptop next ....

It is entirely possible to use a laptop to play live music. Having said that, I am also sometimes put off seeing a laptop on stage. I recently met Alan Wilkis and we chatted about his set up. I got a close look at it while he was packing it up after a show I worked recently. He has a laptop running ...

I have two DDD-1's and I can assure you all that they are, in fact, "real".

Re: Maybe Behringer Will Finally Do It.

If Alesis and Akai can make synths, why not another recording/audio processing company? Other companies have done it too. Casio was a watch and calculator manufacturer. Still is. Technics is a home audio maker, and they made a mono in the late 70s and a couple of innovative digital synths in the 90...

Re: Minimoog Fade-In Effect?

Somewhat related to this... I was wondering if I could use a 1975 Yamaha GX-1, or a 1936 Hammond Novachord, or an 1897 Thaddeus Cahill Telharmonium... to press a key, get a sound, and then slowly fade that sound down? Now, I know FOR SURE that these are the only 3 instruments on Planet Earth where ...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?

I haven't owned many synths but I would say the MiniMoog following by the CS-50.

That's just personal experience based on what I've owned/played.

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!

We all know the story. The 303 became popular precisely because it was cheap. It was cheap because it just wasn't a very versatile synth. These things used to languish in pawn shops. Then some people started using them to make some music that became popular. Then they became sought after and the pri...

Mine's a tank.

It's sturdy and I do not hesitate to gig or travel with it.

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!

I know it feels a bit creepy asking after the Mini but you could probably find a way to it with some class.

One way would be to offer them a fair price for it. It may be useless to them, just taking up space and they might be happy to have it gone.
